Epiphone LP Custom Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Antique White Review

Epiphone LP Custom Les Paul Collection Electric Guitar, Antique White
Average Reviews:

I have owned the Alpine White Epiphone Les Paul Custom for two years.
Previously, I have owned two American standard Fender Stratocasters (both were professionally set up) and niether one of them played as well or sounded better than this Epiphone Les Paul. If you are lucky enough to buy one of these beauties, do yourself a favor and have a luthier set it up. The neck is straight, the body is solid, and the tone is good. The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5, is that in my opinion the pick-ups and tone could be slightly better. But then again, if you really need that, get a Gibson.
I would not hesitate to recommend this guitar. It is solid.

As timeless as Les himself and at home in every setting from Rock to Jazz, this guitar has tone and sustain to spare thanks to all the classic Les Paul design elements and Epiphone's newest innovation, our newEpiphone LockTone' locking Tune-o-matic bridge and Stop-bar tailpiece that endows you with even more rich tone and sustain. The set, Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard has the iconic "block" inlays, as well as the "split-diamond" Abalone headstockinlay, the calling card of the Custom. This is my first bass guitar. I'd been searching for the perfect one with reasonable price and this was it.
Its first day, I only played this w/o amp.(I'm going to try amp tomorrow.) So far, the structure, colour, finishing. great.
Sound? I can't tell since I didn't have chance to try the pickups.

RainSong Guitars Studio Series S-OM1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar Review

RainSong Guitars Studio Series S-OM1000N2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned a RainSong H-DR1100N2 since April 2010, and purchased an S-OM1000N2 in March 2011. The H-DR is a loud dreadnought voiced similarly to a Martin. The S-OM compared to my son's Martin 000-16RGT has a more even less miss range dominant tone and sounds great too. With your eyes closed, nothing about the tone of the S-OM would make you think anything other than high quality, solid wood. The Studio series RainSong guitars have a textured finish (rougher than a typical satin) that is buffed out to a smooth satin on the neck. If you are prone to hitting the top of your guitar with a pick when you play, the full gloss Hybrid series might be a better choice to reduce pick noise. On the plus side, the textured finish makes the guitar easily positioned and stable, seated or standing. The Fishman Prefix-T sounds very good (huge strides ahead of earlier Fishman under saddle systems) and has a tuner which smoothly tracks even an open low-E. The fret job is absolutely perfect and the action is spot on (3 and 2/32nds, low/high E, 12th fret, Elixir Nanoweb lights). The build quality is clean inside and out.
You can now choose between wood or composite guitars; trading off the aesthetics of wood against the durability and convenience of composite (no humidification, no case storage as recommended by Taylor, leave it in the trunk of your car -- well maybe not in an equatorial desert), without concern for volume, tone, or playability.

Featuring a tough, non-glossy Fine Texture finish, the Studio Series scales back on flashy appointments to deliver the signature RainSong sound and playability in a rugged, road-worthy package. The RainSong Orchestra Model is the smallest and most refined of all RainSong shapes. It is our most comfortable and intimate guitar, with an immediacy of presence that makes it a favorite with the coffee house crowd. The treble, already a breathtaking attribute of RainSongs, and the carbon sound are simply sublime in this little guitar. A crystal bell clarity, balance, superb separation of individual notes, and an expansive dynamic range make the OM one of our most individually expressive guitars. Because of Projection Tuned Layering, the OM is capable of strong projection. It won't rattle windows like the Jumbo or the Dreadnought, but the OM, when driven, packs a lot of power and punch for a small bodied guitar. The N2 neck is a result of an extensive, long-term collaboration with the renowned artist Steve Miller and Master Luthier John Bolin. The neck design is based on a modified U profile that has been popular in guitars since the 1950s. The N2 has a substantial feel that is ergonomically sound and results in better transfer of string vibration energy to the soundboard. The N2 features a truss rod that is accessible from the head stock. Graphite does not warp or bow with changes in humidity and temperature. The purpose of a truss rod in the N2 is to allow customization of the relief to suit individual preferences.Deluxe RainSong gig bag included.

Daisy Rock WildWood Artist Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Pink Burst Review

Daisy Rock WildWood Artist Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Pink Burst
Average Reviews:

As a first time guitar buyer and complete rookie guitar player, my only criteria when shopping was that it had to be PINK. When My Daisy Rock Guitar arrived, my mind immediately associated the bubble gum / pepto pink color with a toy. I had wanted a real guitar, not a child's instrument.
Well, I got a real guitar and more. After just 5 minutes of haphazard strumming I realized I had gotten my money's worth. This is a quality instrument with great sound. The built-in tuner is a real plus for novices like me. I'll be able to play this guitar for years to come.
I did have concerns about the smaller size - as I'm a 6' tall athlete and women's gear is always too small for me. But the adjustments for women to this guitar are just fantastic.
I'm thrilled with the purchase, LOVE the color, and would recommend this guitar to new and experience players.

Dean Exotica Bubinga Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

Dean Exotica Bubinga Acoustic Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally viewed this guitar as a risky purchase. I had never played a Dean guitar before. However, I decided that the price was right and it appeared to have good reviews elsewhere. Thus, I anxiously awaited its arrival. So what's good about it? Well, I nearly exclusively played electric guitars and find that the Dean has a nice low action. The fretboard has a good width. The frets are a medium height. The tuners work very well. The electronics seem to be exceptional. Unplugged it sounds beautiful. It looks beautiful - the finish is flawless. Anyway, what's not good about it... well, if you really strum hard, I do mean really quite hard, there's a bit of a buzz on the d string. I believe this will be correctable... however, I'm not sure that it's worth the trouble since it's really a rare occurrence.

Luna Sol Aquarius Electric Guitar, Ash Review

Luna Sol Aquarius Electric Guitar, Ash
Average Reviews:

I recently purchased one of these guitars and was a little uncertain at first, as I had never heard of Luna Guitars prior to this. This is an amazing guitar. Guitar came perfectly intonated, and sounds amazing. Between the v shaped back of the neck and the 1 5/8 fret width, it is by far the easiest guitar playability wise I have ever played. Everyone comments how beautiful it is, and I agree. Between the designs on the pick guard and truss rod cover, and the abalone inlays of moons in the fret board, this thing is absolutely gorgeous. Sound quality is great, not sure who manufactures the pickups (or if they make the pickups themselves) but they are hot and have great sound and clarity. All around an excellent buy for the money.

Seagull Coastline S6 Burst GT QI Guitar Review

Seagull Coastline S6 Burst GT QI Guitar
Average Reviews:

I've had the Seagull S6 Burst Q1 for a few weeks now and it's a beauty of a guitar. I received it in perfect condition from Amazon, not a ding to be found, and the action was set up quite nicely out of the box. The onboard electronics, though simple and somewhat limited in terms of control, sound really nice to me. However, I play the guitar through a Fender electric amp (Blues Jr.) so I may not be as qualified a judge of sound as someone with a dedicated acoustic set-up.
The guitar sounds fantastic acoustically as well. The cedar produces a nice warm sound, and though not as loud or "boomy" as a spruce top, there is a fullness of tone to this guitar that I have rarely (if ever) found in the sub $1000 price range. It plays well and I haven't had any issues with the tuners. The onboard electronic tuner is accurate and easy to use.
It's worth mentioning that the guitar I received from Amazon looks QUITE different from the photo pictured. The pickguard is tortoise (not black) and the wood burst is more of a brown/light brown color rather than the black/orange stock photo. I'm not sure if there's just a lot of variance with how these models look or if Amazon (and every other online seller of this guitar) has an outdated picture. I'll post some photos of my guitar on Amazon when I get the chance.
Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the guitar. For the price I paid I feel like I got an amazing deal, but it doesn't do the guitar justice to say that it's a great guitar "for the money." It's a great guitar, period.

Recording King Century Studio Series 12th Fret OOO-Style Acoustic Guitar (Rosewood) Review

Recording King Century Studio Series 12th Fret OOO-Style Acoustic Guitar (Rosewood)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For whatever reason Amazon has this priced lower than the ROS-627 model. This ROS-647 model is identical to the 627 model except for some extra "bling" in the form of hand inlaid abalone. Normally the 647 is $200 or so more than the 627. Thus amazon has an awesome price on this guitar. Unless you don't want a flashy guitar, it's a no brainer to get this over the ROS-627.
The first guitar I was sent had a crack in the back. I couldn't tell if this was a crack in the wood or the lacquer. Either way, I sent it back. Unfortunately amazon made me pay the postage, but I expect to be re-imbursed. Rather than wait for a replacement I requested a refund and ordered a second guitar. The second one was perfect, though it did need a little humidification as the frets were a bit sharp. I recommend picking up an oasis case insert (I don't trust the ones that go in the guitar) for the winter months.
The guitar is beautiful, so beautiful in fact that I'm planning on getting a wall-hanger for it to use when the humidity gets better. It also sounds great too! I'm pretty much a novice to the guitar, but I have played the violin for many years (I got a guitar recently as my infant son seem to really like guitar music/singing) so I know a little bit about how wood should sound and it sounds great. I think this is a fine guitar for all levels of players, but is an especially good deal for an amateur guitarist like me. Honestly, I don't see myself ever needing another guitar in this style as this one should last me forever. However, god forbid something should happen to it (my infant son knocks it over, etc.), it's nice to know it isn't a $3,000 guitar. In fact I don't think I could really enjoy a Martin (or alternately a Huss and Dalton, as I really like those) the way I'd like as I'd be so scared of damaging it. One thing to note is that getting a case for it is a little difficult. A standard OOO sized case will not fit this guitar. In fact I was unable to find a case that worked for sale on Amazon. However, I did find a "guardian" brand 12-fret OOO case on another site.

Recording King Century Studio Series 12th Fret OOO-Style Acoustic Guitar (Rosewood) Review

Recording King Century Studio Series 12th Fret OOO-Style Acoustic Guitar (Rosewood)
Average Reviews:

I just received my ROS-627 from Amazon.
In case anybody was curious, these come with no case. They are shipped double-boxed, and mine arrived in good shape. The only contents of the inner box was a guitar and an Allen wrench for truss rod adjustments.
These guitars are inspired by Martin designs, so they will be compared to Martin models. In this case, the guitar is a clone of the Martin 000-28VS, and Recording King made a great clone.
I've seen some of the lower-end Recording King offerings, and the ROS-627 is a cut above. The wood quality is top-notch. Tightly grained spruce top with lots of silking and no run-out. (That means the top was cut for optimum strength, and it looks lovely.)
The setup was fine out of the box. Low action at both the nut and the 12th fret. Plenty of saddle for additional adjustment if desired. I loosened the truss rod a bit to add a bit more relief to the neck, but this Recording King came setup from the factory better than Martins I've owned.
I found some very minor flaws, like a tool mark on one corner of the bridge, but I view that as the mark of a hand-made instrument rather than a serious flaw.
Tone quality is obviously subjective, but this guitar has just the tone I'd expect from a 12-fret 000. More balanced than a dreadnought, but with a bit more bass thump than a 14-fret OM.
The only thing I would change on this model if I could is the "aging toner" they added to the top. Martin does the same thing, but I prefer to let the wood age naturally and to start off looking like freshly-cut white spruce.
It's a keeper. And I can still afford to buy some more guitars!

I bought this guitar today.
This guitar is a thing of beauty, the wood is beautiful and the binding is incredible.
I have not seen craftsmanship like this in a long time.
The guitar has a nice tone and the action is good, right out of the case.
Even without an amp it is loud enough to be heard.
The on board tuner is great and very handy. their symbol lights up both wings when the right pitch for the string is reached.
The on board electronics are very nice and when i plugged it into the amp I must have pushed the volume up, it got my attention in a hurry.
(of course the wife says, Turn that down)
Over all this is one heck of a nice guitar.
If you love exotic wood, this is a great guitar to own.

This Dixie rebel is a shredders dream come true!
Mahogany set neck, mahogany body,DUNCAN Dime bucker and of course
DIME BAGS favorite Floyd Rose double locking tremlo.
Rose wood fret board.
Some of these are string through so make sure which one your buying on line.I have also noticed that the string through design has a little different paint job. It doesn't look as aged.
This guitar sounds great with a lot of crunch and power
for all of you Pantera fans out there.
The neck is fast and has a cool REBEL in lay at the #12 fret.
Not to mention that the killer paint job really finishes this ax off.
Don't be fooled by all of the cheap xl's that are on the market.
This is the real deal.
UPDATE/ The only real draw back I have noticed so far is the finnish. There are tiny little cracks all through the clear coat now. From what I hear, other guitar players and from Dean, there was an error made in putting the clear cote on with some of these guitars and alot of them all have the same issue. It wont affect the playability at all. Just re/sale value if people are picky about the finnish on purchasing a used guitar.
This guitar is a must have for your guitar arsenal.
If you like this guitar check out Deans war bird as well.

The USA Rebel Razorback is an eye-catching addition to Dean's Dimebag lineup, with the notorious Razorback shape emblazoned in a hand-airbrushed, distressed Rebel Flag graphic, and the 12th-fret "Dime Razor" inlay. It also delivers in the tone and playability departments, with a blazing Duncan Dimebucker and Dean "DimeTime" humbucker combo, Grover tuners, a Floyd Rose trem, and DBD traction knobs.

Dime ItThe late great Dimebag Darrell is a serious metal guitar hero, and Dean's series of Dimebag models pays homage. Dimebag started playing Dean ML style guitars in the late '70s, and made it one of the most recognizable shapes today. Dean offers a wide variety of Dimebag models to choose from, all boasting Dimebag's distinctive look and tons of mojo and attitude.

Mahogany BodyAs with the original models, Dean uses a mahogany body for this Razorback.Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain. And of course it looks great with the hand-airbrushed, distressed Rebel flag.

Set Neck ConstructionThis axe features a set mahogany neck, which imparts all the well-known advantages of that style: a warmer overall tone with extended low-end response, wicked sustain, and easy upper-fret access (enhanced even further by the cutaways).

The 24-3/4-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard, decorated with arrow inlays and a "Dime razor" inlay at the 12th fret.

Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Bridge Pickup Seymour's SH-13 Dimebuckers were designed with the man himself to provide serious output and an aggressive tone. The Dimebucker uses a powerful ceramic magnet and stainless steel blades for serious crunch. The SH-13 boasts more treble bite than a lot of humbuckers, along with low-end punch and exceptional dynamics.

A Dean "Dimetime"humbucker completes the package up in the neck position, with each pickup getting its own volume conrol, along with a shared tone and three-way toggle.

Grover TunersIf you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.
Original Floyd Rose Tremolo SystemThe patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose Tremolo System allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it.

DBD Traction KnobsDimebag always rocked his "traction knobs," which he created by taking a soldering iron to them, for knobs that are grippable no matter how much sweat's pouring off you on stage. Dean faithfully recreates that here.

Dean Performer Mini Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Left Handed Guitar, Classic Black Review

Dean Performer Mini Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Left Handed Guitar, Classic Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The guitar sounds grest and it looks really good. It is really easy and comfortable to play. It is very solid and the electronics are great. the downside on the particular guitar that i received is that it seems that the cables are kind of loose and just laying around there and when i pick certain strings or notes something rumbles in the inside. it is a little rumble and you hardly notice it but sometimes it can be annoying. This guitar came with some scratches in hte edge of hte soundhole and of course you can imagine that i was really unhappy about that but i just covered it with some paint and it looks good now. the scratch wasnt even noticeable at first but i like my guitars to look perfect. Since it is a black guitar you know you are going to have extra care with it becuase every little scrach just pops out. Aside from all that this is a great guitar for the price. the fretboard is beautiful and it is well put together. It comes with D'addario strings (which i dont really like) so i changed them for some elixir polyweb strings and it is even more easy to play and even more easy on your fingers. you will have to adjust the neck of hte guitar at first. It holds the tuning perfectly. The built in tuner isnt vergy good but you will always have your amp to do that job.
Conclusion:
this is a great guitar for the price and it is beautiful and it does the job very well. I recommend this product for left-handed players. you will be more than satisfied. Ill post a video review when i have some time.
PS. this doesnt come with hte aphex preamp that the exoticas come with. this is a regular performer and if you have some extra cash i'd probably recommend buting hte exotica. because of the look and the aphex preamp beucase it sounds really good.

I've been playing this guitar for a few days now, and it continues to surprise me in every way.
I've wanted a Taylor for several years now, and that's not a secret. Everyone who knows me well enough knows I've been a Taylor fan for years even though I've never had the opportunity to own one. With the new 100 and 200 series guitars, those aspiring to own Taylors, but don't have the bank account for it, can now own the guitar of their dreams.
This guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top and laminated sapele back and sides. Sapele is sonically similar to mahogany, and provides many of the same tonal characteristics that mahogany players love - lots of rich midrange, without too much boomy bass or bright, ringing trebles. It's a great wood that's suited to many different applications. The Grand Auditorium shape is Taylor's most popular, and for good reason. With its good bass response, ringing trebles, and powerful midrange, it's a guitar that's suited to many different styles of playing, from flatpicking/strumming to fingerstyle. This shape is Taylor's "axe of all trades" and no matter what your style, the GA body delivers.
Does this guitar sound as refined as its all-solid wood counterparts? Of course not, no laminate guitar does. However, what one should keep in mind is that a vast majority of the tone comes from the soundboard and the resonance chamber itself rather than the back and side woods. I'd say this guitar has a good 95% of the tone that its solid sapele counterparts (the acoustic 3 series or the 300 A/E series) have, but nowhere near the price. One needs to keep in mind there is the law of diminishing returns, and these "budget-level" guitars are no exception to that rule. This guitar is responsive, expressive, and would be a great guitar for gigs and other applications.
The action, fit, and finish is all signature Taylor. All the playability of a Taylor is still there. It plays about as easy as a good solid-body electric guitar. This guitar literally begs you to play it. It feels great in your lap (the GA body is a perfect ergonomic shape), and it looks great. There was some minor fret buzz at the ninth fret which was easily fixed, but that's the only thing I could find wrong. I didn't particularly care for the factory strings (Elixir 80/20 Nanoweb Lights) as to my ears they sound too bright. Replaced with a set of Elixir Phosphor Bronze Lights and this mellowed the guitar out beautifully and added a much more dynamic bass response, without losing any of the treble clarity.
This is the perfect Taylor for the hobbyist, occasional gig player, or any not-so-serious musician. Serious players would probably still be better served with an all-solid wood guitar, but for those of us who just want to enjoy our playing and sound good too, the Taylor 114 is the ideal choice.
EDIT: I just replaced the stock plastic bridge pins and tusq saddle with bone bridge pins and saddle. The improvement in the tone is rather significant. If you get this guitar, be sure to do just that, it takes makes a great sounding guitar even better.

Taylor's popular Grand Auditorium shape joins the 100 Series. The 114 embodies the signature Taylor look, tone and feel--in an affordable package.

The Taylor 100 Series Tone and playability are hallmarks of Taylor guitars, and you'll find the 100 Series delivers plenty of each. Sporting a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele laminate back and sides, the redesigned 100 Series now features both Dreadnought and Grand Auditorium shapes, along with cutaway and Taylor electronics options. Value, yes. Compromise, no.
Sitka Spruce Top Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis) grows in a coastal "pocket" from Northern California to Alaska. This dense, straight-grained wood has the highest strength and elasticity-to-weight ratio among available tonewoods, an attribute that makes it an ideal material not only for our soundboards, but for our internal bracing, as well. Sitka produces a slightly brighter tone than does Engelmann.
Sapele Laminate Back/SidesThis exceptional, mahogany-like wood grows throughout the tropical rain forests of Nigeria and the Ivory Coast of Africa. Ever since we introduced it in 1998, its legion of fans has grown exponentially. As a tonewood, it's denser and harder than mahogany, so it has a crisper, clearer, brighter, "pop"-ier sound than its more familiar counterpart. Loud and robust, with a lovely ribboned grain, sapele has been used by Spanish guitar makers for many years.
Varnish FinishA durable varnish finish offers protection, good looks, and a smooth feel to the touch. The spruce top's beauty shines right through.
Grand Auditorium Body Shape The Grand Auditorium was the first guitar shape designed from scratch by Bob Taylor. It was unveiled to commemorate the company's 20th Anniversary in 1994, and since then it has more than lived up to its promise. Although the GA has the width and depth of a Dreadnought, its narrower waist gives it the appearance of a smaller instrument, adds treble "zing" across the guitar's tonal spectrum, sharpens the definition of individual notes, and also enables it to rest comfortably in the lap. Because we remove mass from the width of the GA's braces, the guitar top moves faster, resulting in a snappy, bell-like tone. The GA, available as a 6- or 12-sting, is designed to be a strong fingerpicking guitar that also can handle medium strumming, and is exceptionally versatile.
Chrome-Plate Tuners Taylor Tuners continue the industry-leading 18:1 gear ratio that they've been using, yet yield even greater precision with the help of a manufacturing process that employs the same gear-cutting machines used by Swiss watchmakers. The more precisely-machined gears virtually eliminate the slight "slop", or slack, typical among tuners, which makes it even easier for Taylor owners to get--and stay--in tune. Taylor Tuners also feature an elegant aesthetic touch, with the Taylor logo cleanly etched on the back.
