As a seasoned player of 25 years, I purchased this guitar to get back into playing after some hard times and losing some very high-end equipment. This, for being a factory-made instrument, FAR exceded my expectations in quality construction, playability, and most importantly sound. For anyone who wants to learn to play or purchase an instrument for your older child, this is a very good choice compared to the other instruments below this price point. Mainly for the fact that this guitar has a full scale neck (22 frets) as opposed to the 21 on most cheaper models and some higher end models.

The Squier Standard Stratocaster plays great, with traditional vibe and modern feel. Player-friendly features like the slimmer neck and 22-fret maple fingerboard make for easier playing, and the die-cast tuners are lifetime-lubricated for years of trouble-free service and tuning stability. A twin-pivot bridge with satin-anodized saddles provides smooth tremolo action, and the single-coil alnico pickups sound great!
