Gibson LES PAUL STD 50'S NECK Review

Gibson LES PAUL STD 50'S NECK
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was undecided between a Fender and a Gibson Les Paul. I checked out U-tube reviews and sounds and took the leap of faith and purchased the 2008 Gibson Les Paul Standard with 50's neck. WOW. Say it with me now... WOW. Absolutely beautiful fit and finish on this guitar. This is the type of guitar that you pass down to your children. It has a very throaty voice unlike the Fenders. Fenders were very twangy to me and that's fine if you like that sort of sound. Not for me. The guitar has a very ballsy/throaty/blues-rock sound to it. I have it paired with a Line 6 75 watt amp. They are a very good pairing. You'll love this amp as well. It provide hundreds of different sounds at the touch of several buttons. However, lets get back to this guitar. I know it's a lot of money, but you will not be disappointed. Holds it tune, and is a bit lighter as well. This is the type of instruments that you have a hard time putting down since it sounds soooo good.

Godin Progression Electric Guitar (Trans Cream, Maple Neck) Review

Godin Progression Electric Guitar (Trans Cream, Maple Neck)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Recently I ordered the Godin Progression in a trans cream colour.
The guitar looks, feels and sounds great. If you like a floating tremolo as I do, you need to adjust the settings. Standard the tremolo is resting on the body for the people that don't use a tremolo. My guitar was with the standard setting ok.
As with any new guitar I always service the guitar to set my personal settings (string height...etc.). It's a very versatile guitar including the High Defintion Revoicer. I use this feature mainly to have a bit more punch for clean rhythm parts. The fretwork is excellent as well as the overall finish. The neck feels smooth, more comfortable than a standard Fender strat. Taking into account the price/quality, this guitar is a great deal and can easily compete with the major league. You'll be impressed with the natural sound which is also reinforced by the extra big magnets in the single coils. With the 5 way switch you can retrieve all the classic sounds and more. For sure a guitar to recommend.

Gibson Faded Les Paul Special Electric Guitar with Humbuckers (with Gig Bag) (Worn Cherry) Review

Gibson Faded Les Paul Special Electric Guitar with Humbuckers (with Gig Bag) (Worn Cherry)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is simply a great guitar. While it doesn't have the sheen of a highly clear coated guitar, the warmth of the cherry finish along with the wood grain makes for one cool look. I don't know about the other fadeds, but this one has a relatively even finish.
The humbuckers are hot and the fingerboard is fast. I haven't experienced any string buzzing. I may tweak the action down a little though. If I were Gibson, the only thing I'd change is the back of the neck. Feels a little grainy because of the satin finish. Doesn't impede the playing...just takes some getting used to.
I play a regular gig and have decided to bench my strat in favor of the Les Paul. While it doesn't have a carved top and it may not be as pretty as a Les Paul Standard or Custom, this is a nice guitar for the money.

Paul Reed Smith PRS SE Paul Allender - Scarlet Red Burst Review

Paul Reed Smith PRS SE Paul Allender - Scarlet Red Burst
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm a picky player. I have in fact built a few guitars. That said I was down a guitar center playing the usual junk, When I saw this guitar. The EMG's caught my eye. I compared it to a few USA Strats with Texas special pickup. In the single coil position this guitar killed them all. I compared it to an Ibenez s series. Not even close. The s series was so dead tone wise, and the neck had a weird non fluid feel. I have not bought a new guitar in eight years, untill today. It has so much tone diversity, and a wonderful attack. I have been playing Pink Floyd to Van Halen, and this guitar emulates then well. I think this guitar Is perfect for the player that needs a wide range of tone in one package.

Paul Allender, lead guitarist of Cradle of Filth, is no stranger to the PRS SE Signature lineup. Paul started playing PRS when he left Cradle of Filth and started the band The Blood Devine. He purchased a secondhand CE24 and used it exclusively throughout the band's days and brought it with him when he rejoined Cradle of Filth in 2000. He then sent a design of his own to PRS featuring a purple and black sunburst on a curly maple top and replacing PRS's traditional bird inlays with bats. PRS built this guitar for Allender through the Private Stock department, which eventually influenced his original SE model released in 2007. The original SE Paul Allender Model is updated here with the addition of a Scarlet Red color option, nickel hardware, an ebony fretboard, and EMG pickups.

Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom FX (Floyd, EMG-81/85 Pickups) Review

Epiphone Prophecy Futura Custom FX (Floyd, EMG-81/85 Pickups)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'll be honest. I don't think this guitar is for everyone. Other than receiving the actual guitar in a mess (de-tuned, very very very low action, ridiculous unplayable buzzing and offset bridge etc, etc....don't worry... did not buy it from this particular seller XD), After i got it fixed, it played excellent. I can't judge it too harshly because i've been playing a jackson rr-3 for 2 years, and the floyd rose on that particular model of guitar is completely flush with the body, and i know most floyds are not, but rather raised, above the body. Also, the pick-ups are a bit too close together for my liking, and i have a really hard time getting harmonics out of the g-string, but that's just my experience, and i would say 'because of that' but i really don't know if that's the cause. And of course it's about twice the weight of an rr3 so you get a bit sore after a while, but i can't complain about that. Other than that, it has a nice fast neck, reasonably slim, plays nice, but pick-ups seem a bit over-responsive.

Gibson Flying V 1968 Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome Hardware Review

Gibson Flying V 1968 Electric Guitar, Ebony - Chrome Hardware
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The legendary Flying V by Gibson is one of the top guitars of choice for all music afficionados. I bought my first "V" when I toured with the second re-grouping of Screaming Lord Sutch. I have always loved the remarkeable sustain the V can produces even while being beaten with a bratwurst. I now own three V's and would not part with any of them. There durable construction is a bonus as well. I once clubbed an irrate sound technician in the face with one while doing studio work for "The Filth" back in 93. Once while performing with The Defecators I actually used my 2nd V to bat in incoming beer bottle back into the crowd during a show in Hamburg. The action is very light and perfect for doing solo's with your tongue. My 3rd V can be heard on tracks 2, 4 and 5 on Meat Sticks 3rd album..."Whats for lunch".

Schecter C-7 Standard Electric Guitar - Black Review

Schecter C-7 Standard Electric Guitar - Black
Average Reviews:

Get this guitar, plain and simple. For the money you pay you couldn't possibly find a better deal. The build quality is top of the line, you can feel the quality oozing out of it just by holding it. It's been an incredibly reliable instrument for me. It stays in tune really well without the trouble of a finicky and fragile floyd rose. The duncan pickups deliver a clean sound with lots of power. Having that seventh string for the extra range is very nice, especially if you want to play some of the more extreme forms of metal. The body and paintjob are truly beautiful in person. My only complaint is that it doesn't even come with a gear bag, I went ahead and got a nice hardcase for it. If you get a hardcase make sure it's big enough to accommodate the wider neck due to the seventh string.

(More customer reviews)
I have been playing guitar for 21 years and I finally decided I wanted a strat. I read hundreds of reviews and watched tons of youtube vids of all styles because I always felt that the American Fenders were over priced (and they are). I had always heard good things about G&L and I bought this bad boy sight unseen. It is now my go to guitar. I love everything about it. I love the neck, even though it is quite different from Fender, because it is really wide all the way to the nut and it is not as thick. This thing plays better than any American strat I have played and at a fraction of the cost. Do yourself a favor if you are in the market for a strat and buy this mutha!!!

Gibson SG '61 Reissue Electric Guitar Heritage Cherry Review

Gibson SG '61 Reissue Electric Guitar Heritage Cherry
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
What an awesome Guitar! This guitar is good for beginners and advanced players. This looks really nice and is perfect for showing off! The Gibson's strings are very sensitive to touch so it doesn't need a firm grip. The only thing that is bad about this guitar is that it scratches and dents very easy. Other than that this guitar is perfect so start saving up. This is in fact the first guitar the young Jimmy Hendrix ever had (except less old and different color....du'h)!

Click Here to see more reviews about: Gibson SG '61 Reissue Electric Guitar Heritage Cherry

The Gibson SG '61 Reissue Electric Guitar is so light, comfortable, and playable you won't want to put it down. Features a slim-tapered neck, sculpted double-cutaway mahogany body, exclusive Gibson '57 classic humbucking pickups at the neck and bridge, and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. Relive some of the greatest moments of rock 'n' roll with a one-piece bound mahogany neck, Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and chrome hardware. Includes Gibson hardshell case.'60s Slim-Taper Neck ProfileThe '60s neck profilefound on the SG '61 Reissueis the more modern, slim-tapered neck most commonly associated with the Les Paul and SG models of the early 1960s. The neck is machined in Gibson's rough mill using wood shapers to make the initial cuts. But once the fingerboard gets glued on, the restincluding the final sandingis done by hand. That means there are no two necks with the exact same dimensions. So while it still has the basic characteristics of its respective profile, each neck will be slightly different, with a distinct but traditional feel.'57 Classic PickupsAmong the qualities that make Gibson's original "Patent Applied For" humbucking pickups so unique are the subtle variations between coil windings. For the first few years of their production1955 to 1961Gibson's PAF humbuckers were wound using imprecise machines, resulting in pickups with slightly different output and tone, desirable to players who wanted to mix and match and explore a complete spectrum of tonal possibilities. The '57 Classic and '57 Classic Plus pickups are the result of Gibson's drive to capture and recreate this renowned characteristic. Introduced in 1992, the '57 Classic provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch. The '57 Classic Plus is the perfect bridge-position companion to the '57 Classic, inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. Both are made by Gibson to the exact same specs

ESP LTD F50 Electric Guitar (Black) Review

ESP LTD F50 Electric Guitar (Black)
Average Reviews:

Now, I wouldn't exactly say that the F-50 plays itself, but it's about the closest to it that I've ever seen.
From the very thin, fast neck to the solid tuners, to the 24 extra jumbo frets to the great sounding humbuckers... I can't think of a single thing that I dislike about this beasty. The short fret spacing makes notes and chords easier to reach, especially if you don't have freakishly long fingers.
It even looks terrific (especially if you're into metal). The goth-ish body styling probably wouldn't work for you if you're looking to play country, but if you're a rocker... this guitar's shape sets it apart from the million other strats around, and in black, it looks exceptionally evil.

I purchased this guitar with much research for my boyfriend who, at the time, had a beat up one. He was skeptical first, but fell in love with it soon after. The actual guitar can use some adjustments, notably the pickups (which he did switch out for Emgs). Though the guitar is black, it has this pretty white outline that makes it nice on the eyes. The guitar came in on time and with no hassle or chips or dents. I ordered the guitar from Wholesale Music and I will definitely buy from again.
If you're on a budget, which most of us are, and can't afford the awesome ones, this ones a pretty good deal :)
