Oscar Schmidt 21 Chord Autoharp Review

Oscar Schmidt 21 Chord Autoharp
Average Reviews:

I purchased this for my six year-old's birthday because her father and I play guitar and she always wants to be a part of the music practice. She is learning to strum in time and be dedicated to practicing an instrument. We all love playing this. Fabulous quality, take some time to tune. Buy the hard case for it and plenty of picks.

Oscar Schmidt is the world's biggest autoharp manufacturer, and the OS21C is one of their most popular models. With 21 chords, a resonant maple body and rock maple pin block, and the handcrafted quality Oscar Schmidt is known for, it's a solid, affordable autoharp that's built to last.

Oscar Schmidt AutoharpsFrom its early beginnings in the 1900s, the Oscar Schmidt Company has offered an instrument with a voice representing individual freedom for American Folk Music. With a wide variety of models to choose from, Oscar Schmidt is truly the original and only complete source for the Autoharp.
The OS21CThe OS21C 21-chord classic is one of Oscar Schmidt's most popular models, and with good reason. As a chromatic 21-chord model, it offers three rows of buttons, meaning quick, smooth chord transitions. Oscar Schmidt's patented chord bar button layout includes A, D, G, C, F, Bb, Eb and A Major; E, A, D, G and C Minor; along with B, E, A, D, G, C, F, and Bb Seventh Chords.
This autoharp features select maple construction, and is finished in an attractive sunburst gloss. A rock maple pin block provides serious strength, to assure your autoharp is always in tune.
Oscar Schmidt backs this instrument with a five-year warranty, for added peace of mind.
About Oscar Schmidt Musical InstrumentsThe Oscar Schmidt Company was founded in 1871 and incorporated in 1911. By the early 1900s, the company had five factories in Europe and a factory on Ferry Street in Jersey City. They made all kinds of stringed instruments, guitars, banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, zithers, and Autoharps.
The company prospered through the early 1920s. Oscar Schmidt instruments were sold in many rural parts of the country where no music stores existed. Salesmen distributed the products far and wide, making them available in general, small town furniture and dry goods stores. Country guitar pickers and blues musicians living in areas of the South and in Appalachia, far from the city, frequently played Oscar Schmidt instruments because they were both inexpensive and available locally. But equally important, they were often chosen solely on merits of their superior tone and volume.
Today at Oscar Schmidt, premium woods, quality hardware and modest prices create an ideal instrument. Each is inspected and adjusted in the USA by a skilled technician, your assurance for smooth fret ends, precision low action and resonant sound quality. Unequalled standards in easy playing comfort and tone response creates the perfect value... Oscar Schmidt.

Epiphone Nick Valensi Riviera P-94 Archtop Electric Guitar Review

Epiphone Nick Valensi Riviera P-94 Archtop Electric Guitar
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have searched for what I would consider the perfect guitar for a long time. I have had strats, teles, les pauls, jaguars, and prior to this the two guitars that felt best to me was my Gibson SG Classic and Japanese Fender Jaguar. Originally I had been looking at a Casino (always wanted a semi-hollow) and somehow stumbled across this... and if all went well I would not have to replace some crappy stock pickups. Anyways, the guitar came (bought from a different source), action was a bit high and [understandably] the guitar had extremely heavy gauge strings on it - maybe 12's but they felt like 13's to me. Anyways, I put some 10's on it, adjusted the action and intonation and am blown away. For someone looking for a quality semi-hollow on a budget like me and that records a lot while enjoying playing multiple styles that needs a versatile guitar this is GREAT. Mine was MIK if it matters to anyone - I don't like buying Chinese stuff on principle. This guitar is very versatile and can cover many genres with the exception of crushing scooped metal... matter of fact I just recorded a jazz track with it and it sounded great (normally I record and write atmospheric, ambient, guitar driven instrumentals). Gibson P-94's, Frequensator, and Grovers tuners leave little to be replaced.

The Epiphone Nick Valensi Riviera is inspired by the Strokes' guitarist's beloved '90's Riviera that is such an important part of his sound. He installed Gibson P-94 pickups in his, because of the classic super-single-coil sound that fits in a Humbucker space. We've done the sam with this model and the tonal results are equally as awesome. The body is authentic 90's Riviera 5-ply Maple semi-hollow construction with a 1-piece Mahogany neck fitted with a Tune-o-matic bridge and vintage Epiphone Frequensator split-trapeze tailpiece.Cosmetics include parallelogram fingerboard inlays with the body finished in Antique Natural.

Dean ML 79 Guitar with Floyd Rose Tremelo, Trans Brazil Review

Dean Set Neck Guitars are the very Best you can find for the money. Let's see... Do I buy a $2500 Gibson Les Paul or a $500 Dean. Oh, make no mistake, the Les Paul is better... just not $2000 better, NOT EVEN CLOSE !!!

Click Here to see more reviews about: Dean ML 79 Guitar with Floyd Rose Tremelo, Trans Brazil

The Dean '79 Series ML is built to the original specs of the 1979 Deans, boasting a mahogany body with flame maple top, a set mahogany neck, a pair of Dean zebra humbuckers, and Grover tuning machines. This model adds a licensed Floyd Rose with a locking nut, for the tremolo fans. Get the vintage tone without the vintage wear and tear, and forget about that boutique price tag.

The Dean '79 Series1979 was a great time for Dean Guitars. Some of Rocks' greatest players played Dean to include: Kansas, ZZ Top, Heart, The Doobie Brothers, Triumph,The Cars, Pantera, Iron Maiden, Def Leppard--the list goes on.

Dean Guitars builds these beauties to the original specs of the original 1979 Deans, which are now collectibles on the open market. The '79 series uses the Series 2 headstock, larger than the time capsule, and has the same look and feel as their predecessors of the seventies.

The '79 series is available in finishes originally offered in the 1979 Dean catalog, including: Cherry Sunburst, Braziliaburst, and Black with white binding--and the prices are just as striking.

Mahogany Body with Flame Maple TopAs with the original models, Dean uses a mahogany body for its contemporary '79s.Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain. The flamed maple top serves two purposes. The first, which is plain as day when you take a look at this axe, is aesthetic, with the Braziliaburst finish showcasing the flamed wood grain for looks you can't deny. The second result of the flamed maple top is a focusing of the mahogany tone, imparting clarity to your notes/chords, and a little extra high-end bite.

Set Neck ConstructionThe '79 ML features a set mahogany neck, which imparts all the well-known advantages of that style: a warmer overall tone with extended low-end response, wicked sustain, and easy upper-fret access (enhanced even further by the '79s cutaways). The 24-3/4-inch scale neck features a rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot inlays.

Dean Humbucker PickupsTo capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers, in black-and-white "zebra" style for looks as good as the sounds. And what to expect tonally? These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination. Each pickup gets a volume pot, and they share the tone control.

Grover TunersIf you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.
Licensed Floyd Rose TremoloThe patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose tremolo allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it.

i picked up this inexpensive acoustic/electric for playing at worship. I've owned electric acoustic guitars in the past and was very excited to find a slim roundback guitar that has good, reliable and consistent sound. It sounds good with or without the amp. The strings that came with it were a bit 'horsey' so I replaced them with lighter/brighter strings. It's quick to tune and holds tune well in inclimate weather. After three months, I decided that I like it enough to get rid of my electric guitar altogether. I'll probably upgrade to a more expensive version from Ovation -- I like it so much, I'm kind of wishing I had bought one of the upper-end models now.

Dean V Inferno Electric Guitar, Black With Blue Flames Review

Dean V Inferno Electric Guitar, Black With Blue Flames
Average Reviews:

I have had this awesome guitar for about 2 weeks now and cant put it down.
It almost feels like it plays itself. This guitar has incredible sustain,
the pickups are great all the way from crunch to warm and mellow.
This is a great deal for such an incredible guitar.
The inlay work looks great and the neck through body really gives
this guitar the tone and sound that DEAN fans have come to love.
The maple body is as light as a feather and feels great and
is properly balanced. This is another shred MACHINE from the DEAN
masters.
For some reason the inferno has not been as popular
as some of their other guitars and i cant see why. This plays as well
as the dime from hell and the Dixie Rebel.
There is NOT a double locking Floyd Rose trem on this axe, there is a tom style bridge and the ever faithful Grover tuners which do a great job
at keeping in tune.
I would recommend this to your ammo collection of great guitars.
If you are a collector of flying v guitars do NOT pass this one up!

I've used my AS73 on hundreds of jazz gigs. Plays great, sounds great, very rugged and dependable, even looks great. I've been playing for nineteen years, and owned Fenders, Gibsons, Yamahas, etc, that I didn't like as much as I love this guitar. You owe it to yourself to try one of these instruments.

1861 BALLADEER Acoustic Electric Guitar Black Black Review

1861 BALLADEER Acoustic Electric Guitar Black Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been a guitarist for over 24 years now, and I have owned this model guitar for nearly 6 years now, and it always amazes me that an acoustic guitar can keep playing this well after constant use.
First let me say that the neck is hard as a rock! I have NEVER needed a truss-rod adjustment yet! The fretboard is similar to a fast neck that you might find on a top notch electric guitar...It's very fast, very thin, and super easy to play on. Great for the lead/solo player, as well as any other style of music you're after. Also features an onboard pre-amp & EQ, and when plugged-in, this baby produces some wonderful tone. Stunning!
About the only drawback to Ovations, is the fact that they feature the rounded plastic back. The fact that it's a composite material is NOT the problem...The problem is that the guitar sometimes has a tendency to slip off your leg, if you're not paying attention. It's just one of those "little annoyances" that come with Ovation ownership. :)
The only other drawback, (and it's a very MINOR one) is that this model is a shallow-back. Meaning it's not very deep, and it doesn't throw the sound too far. It really needs to be plugged in to an amp to show it's true potential. Again, even if played unplugged, it's still a fine guitar, and it's definetely plenty loud enough for home use without an amp. Anyway, even with those 2 minor annoyances, I'm keeping mine until hell freezes over, and I'm buying another Ovation soon (12-String).......That's how much I love these beauties!
Bottom Line:
If you want a fine American made acoustic guitar (that you can actually afford), that sounds, plays & looks gorgeous, this one's for you!

Agile AL-2000 Blue Flame Review

Agile AL-2000 Blue Flame
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been playing guitar and recording for over 40 years. I have owned just about every guitar there is including custom built ones and Gibson Les Paul guitars from the 70's. I currently own 5 Agile guitars and am very happy with them.
The Agile AL-2000 looks plays and sounds wonderful. Agile makes many upgrades to this model the 2000 being the base model. It is inexpensive but not a "cheap" guitar.
Agile guitars are made in Korea in the same facilities that produce guitars for the "big name" manufacturers. Rondo has them built to their specifications and is the direct importer who sells direct to the customer. An equivalent Epiphone would cost hundreds of dollars more than the Agile. Rondo music stands behind their products and Kurt who runs Rondo is easy to deal with and very helpful in answering questions and resolving any issues with his products.
The only upgrade I might do on the AL-2000 is to add Duncan JB and Jazz pickups. However it sounds so good at the moment I keep putting it off. Agile also makes some absolutely beautiful upgraded versions of this model with gorgeous real abalone and pearl inlay.
Don't be put off by the low price it's an absolutely great guitar!

Dean Vendetta 1000 Electric Guitar, Transparent Red Review

Dean Vendetta 1000 Electric Guitar, Transparent Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted an intermediate level guitar for practice so that I wouldn't have to lug my LP Standard around. First off let me say this guitar is an absolute steal for the money. Do the math!! A Floyd Rose Special tremolo system would set you back by at least $150 on fleabay (regular price is well over $200). Add excellent Dean DMT time capsule humbuckers ($79 each) and you have over $360 in hardware without switches, body, neck, strings, wires, truss rod, tuning hardware etc. The pickups are excellent and tonal clarity is second to none. I was a bit skeptical considering a guitar under $300 could sound so good. The retail price (MSRP) on this one is $799 and it would be a strong contender at that price too. This is my first Floyd Rose guitar and this thing stays in tune even after using the tremolo bar (whammy bar) repeatedly. All you have to do for fine tuning is adjust the thumb screws and you never have to adjust the string tension knobs, brilliant.
The body is made of mahogany and the transparent red finish is stunning. Design wise, I would still prefer the classier looking Dean hardtail but then, I like less flashy conservative designs and it is purely a matter of personal preference. Get this one before they are sold out because it is tough to find a pitch perfect intermediate to advanced guitar at this price!!
BTW I spoke to a rep at Dean and the 1000F is a special model built exclusively for Musicians Friend/Guitar Center. It is similar hardware-wise to the vendetta 4F except that the Vendetta 4F is neck-through construction whereas the the 1000F has bolt-on neck. The Vendetta 4F has a street price $650 ($1000 retail) while the 1000F is just $300 ($800 retail).

It's simple, Dean makes the best guitar for the money. Their are nicer guitars out there if you want to pay through the nose. Nobody has the originality that Dean brings to the table. You won't see every douche bag and his mother playing one of these!
