ME50BMulti-Effects Made Simple BOSS understands that bass players want access to powerful effects, but they don't want to get caught up in the menus and programming hassles of a multi-effects processor. Enter the ME-50B. Just like its guitar-oriented sibling, the new ME-50B puts BOSS' finest multi-effects for bass into a convenient floor processor with the feel of a compact pedal. Forget about menus and cursor buttons. Just reach down and twist a knob!Independent COSM Compressor/Limiter and EQEveryone knows that the fundamentals of good bass tone are compression and EQ. Fishman AFX Pedal - Reverb Review

Fishman AFX Pedal - Reverb
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is definitely a high quality fx pedal! It's built like a tank and you couldn't ask for better quality reverbs - they are rich and lush and very "tweak-able." There are three reasons I give this 4 stars instead of 5:
1. This thing eats 9v batteries pretty quickly, quicker than most pedals I've used;
2. It didn't come with an AC adapter; and,
3. For $250, it should have come with the adapter and the kitchen sink.
That said, it's a very worthy pedal for acoustic reverb.

I got this after a couple of failed attempts with cheaper Boss and TC units. For the extra $$ it's built like a tank, and works exactly as advertised. Awesome, inspiring delay sounds, more than I could explore in a lifetime, are readily accessible. If you just want simple delays there are much cheaper stompboxes (e.g. Digitech Digidelay, Boss in the $100 range) that do the job fine with a lot less programming. But if you use delay a lot are are particular about the details, avoid the $200-$300 range TC and Boss options and get the Eventide.

The Moog Music MF-107 Moogerfooger FreqBox gives you effects that were once only possible with a modular synth setup, all in single pedal. How? Instead of modifying the input signal to produce an altered version of the sound source, the FreqBox uses a Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) to provide a startling array of effects, from fuzz distortion to glitching sweeps to as-yet-unnamed sonic creations. Boss RC-50 Loop Station Review

Boss RC-50 Loop Station
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this as my first loop station, completely ignoring the RC-2 and RC-20, because if you're like me, you don't want to spend $100+ on a loop station that is obsolete to a $500 one. I decided to save for a while, and I must say it was worth it, for my desires as a musician. It's much easier to use than I thought it would be. I used one at my local music store and ended up embarrassing myself, because it was the first time I'd ever touched it. So, because I didn't wanted that feeling of embarrassment again, I read the first few pages of the manual on how to use it, practiced with it for a good 20 minutes, and I had it down, apart from a couple little things I learned along the way.
Here's how it works: There is a tap tempo pedal, where you can tap your foot to set the tempo, or you can actually hit the tap/tempo button to set the exact bpm (this is very useful for me, because I want to do electronica music, and having the loop at, say 90 bpm, makes it much easier to sync other instruments like a drum machine or a synth to the loop). The little light on the pedal blinks as a metronome, and it can play drum loops as a guide, which makes thing a bit easier. You hit the record pedal to obviously record, and hit it again when you want it to loop. If you made a mistake, there is an undo/redo pedal for the most recent loop made. There are three pedals all the way to the right title "Phrase 1", "Phrase 2", and "Phrase 3" and you can choose which of these to record the loop in, and you can alter the volume of each in case you wish to have one loop louder than the other(s). And then there's the "Stop" pedal, which will stop whatever phrase is selected. There's a lot I've left out, these are just the basics, the manual has everything you need to know.
Features:
Drums loops: There are plenty of drum loops available, varying different genres.
Reverse: If you're like me, you will LOVE this feature. My favorite band is Boards Of Canada, so obviously I enjoy the sound of music backmasked, which they do in a ton of their songs. You can record a loop in a phrase, and then reverse whatever is being played in that phrase. You can make some really dark moods, or create a very unique sound of drums (Ex. The Beatles "Strawberry Fields Forever" has some drum sounds played in reverse).
USB Connector: Exchange data between RC50 and computer.
Again, more stuff I've left out, but I don't want this review to be too long. These are just the features I mainly use.
Pros:
*Easy To Use: I didn't really have any huge problems with it, and got it down kinda fast.
*You can use multiple instruments: Like I said, I bought this because I want to do more with Electronic music, and I planned to use with with a synthesizer, drum machine, computer, etc.
The rest of the pros I'm sure I mentioned earlier. Now on to why it didn't get a perfect 5/5 stars for me.
Cons:
*I could use more phrase pedals: Call me greedy, but I would find it so much more useful.
*Placement of knobs and buttons: I kind of wish this could detach and have a cable to the pedal board. I can't operate all the knobs and buttons with my feet, and I hate having to bend down in order to do that. This is my biggest complaint.Other than that, I'd recommend this looper. For the stuff I want to do in music, I couldn't do it without this.

Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe Effect Pedal Review

Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe Effect Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this pedal from Moore Bros Music via Amazon - so for those of you worried about previous posts about dealing with Fulltone for purchases, you have plenty of options. This is my second Fulltone pedal, I've had the FullDrive 2 for two years and the Deja Vibe for about 3 weeks. This pedal is well built (like all Fulltone pedals) and sounds amazing. You can capture the Trower sound easily and you can easily create or enhance your tone by adding it to your current set-up. The Deja Vibe has given me more tone/sound options than I had anticipated. Switching between chorus, vibrato, the intensity knob and speed really adds flexibility to give most guitarist sounds/tones they will enjoy - then add your other favorite effects (overdrive, distortion, wah...etc) and off you go. There are other good univibe-like options out there for less money...but if you want a Univibe pedal that will last and sounds great, this is it.

Fulltone Mini DejaVibe Pedal--Better than the Uni-Vibe. The new Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe is drawn from the exact same circuit as the original 60s Uni-Vibe. It's even tiny enough to fit on the most cluttered pedalboard, and because of the mini-DV's unique voltage doubling circuit you can use any standard 9 volt DC adapter(Fulltone FPS-1 adapter is included) and inside the MDV the power is ramped up to the original Univibe's 18+ volts DC! Features also include a mini-toggle switch to choose between Vintage/Modern settings allowing for warm original '60's Univibe grind (Vintage setting) and louder, with more output (Modern setting).

This is an awesome preamp! great tone, my guitar snarls and squeals like never before. Does it feel like a tube amp? not quite but its close in terms of response to playing dynamics. Missing some of the harmonic nuances of tube tone decay*... but hey, if you have $$ to drop on a triaxis or a real amp (which you probably couldn't use in an apartment), you shouldn't be looking here anyway. Tech 21 BSDR-DLX SansAmp Bass Driver Deluxe Review

Tech 21 BSDR-DLX SansAmp Bass Driver Deluxe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I play in 2 bands and I typically use 2 to 3 Basses on stage depending on the band (and the stage). I have always fought with having to dial in the right tone for each Bass every time I switch Basses. The Tech 21 BSDR-DLX SansAmp Bass Driver Deluxe solves that problem. I can preset the 3 main tones I need for 2 Basses and when I switch basses, it just takes a split second to hit the footswitch and I have the exact sound I need. This thing is very easy to setup and has a boatload of other features. Besides the obvious XLR Direct out, it also has a 1/4" Parallel out that is pre-tone controls so you can send your unaltered Bass signal to a Tuner or in my case, another amplifier. It also has an effects loop so you can have your effects setup and just hit one switch and you have the tone you need plus the effects you need. There's a small learning curve and you need some time for trial and error with the tone controls and the drive, level and blend controls if your customizing your own sounds. You can also just use the stock sounds that come pre-programmed and it sounds great. I've had many compliments from band mates as well as fans in the audience about my sound since using the Bass Driver Deluxe. I would definitely recommend the Tech 21 BSDR-DLX SansAmp Bass Driver Deluxe for any Bassist. I would also recommend you buy the optional Tech 21 DC2 DC2 Power Supply.

Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus Amp Review

Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus Amp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm in heaven. I was playing on a Peavey Classic 30, but the JC-120 blows that amp away. This Amp is the standard to which all amps are measured. It has 120 watts of the sweetest tone to ever make your ears bleed. It's loud and clean! You can actually hear your guitar's true uncolored tone ring through. When I play jazz, I plug straight into the front of the amp with no effects whatsoever, and it's the most beautiful clean tone I've ever had.
The chorus on this thing is legendary too. I can't help but think I've heard this same chorus many times before in studio recordings. That would make sense since I hear this is a studio as well as a stage standard.
The reverb is tops as well. The distortion is a little weak, but I have a Boss GT-10 to handle all my effects needs since I have to play a multitude of different styles. Works good since the amp has a stereo input, and the GT-10 has a stereo output.
The Amp holds up well on the road which is a plus if you have to travel a lot, and the casters are a life saver.
I recommend this amp to anyone playing ANY style of music that wants versatile professional sound. I don't think you can find a better clean tone at any price, and it won't muddy up your effects.
On the down side for some guitarists... If your chops are sloppy this amp is unforgiving. You really can hear everything on it. If you practice clean like you're supposed to, you are in for the tonal treat of your live. Enjoy!

Fulltone CLYDE Standard Wah Pedal Review

Fulltone CLYDE Standard Wah Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Fulltone Standard Clyde Wah is one of the world's best wah pedal effects. Not only does it have a vocal-like quality of that of a muted trumpet, but the pedal when switched off is true-bypass and does not detract from the signal from the guitar to the amplifier.
The pedal is rugged, albeit the particular pedal I had purchased had a sensitive footswitch that required a softer "stomp" of the foot for the pedal to work correctly.
When one compares the Fulltone Standard Clyde Wah to other pedals, there, in my mind, is no comparison.
I have owned many other models and brands of wah pedals that are available on the market today and, to me, my search for the best pedal has ended.
That being said, your ears can only be the judge of what you should buy for any sort of guitar or sound related gear, but because I have played guitar for over the past 45 years, I would recommend this pedal for anyone who isn't sure of what to buy. You really can't go wrong with this wah, it's just that good.

Fulltone CLYDE Standard Wah Effect Pedal Clyde McCoy was a big-band Trumpet Player in the '60s... not a great musician, but one famous for getting a muted "wah wah" sound. This led to Vox trying to approximate this muted trumpet sound in a pedal... hence the Vox "Clyde McCoy" wah wah circa 1967.Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton used a Vox "Clyde McCoy" model wah wah. Photos taken during the recording of "Electric Ladyland" document Jimi's as being the "signature" model, featuring Clyde McCoy's name written out script style on the bottom plate. The other type of Clyde McCoy was the "picture" version, which had Clyde's photo on the bottomplate. The "signature" model, with it's great sounding "halo" inductor, is what the Fulltone CLYDE is modeled after. The Fulltone "CLYDE" was born from taking the best of the best of my more than 25 pc. vintage Vox wah collection, and analyzing every aspect... going so far as sacrificing a few of the vintage inductors to get it right.

Boss SL-20 Slicer Effects Pedal Review

Boss SL-20 Slicer Effects Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)

What it does:
The Boss SL-20 is a Panner/Gater with 50 rhythmic patterns some of which have a fair amount of pitch shifting. It really shines in stereo where you can get some pretty interesting panning effects including several "3D" effects where the sound seams to move around you in 3 dimensions (duh). The panning is synced to the rhythm which you can adjust through either; tap tempo, a dial or a midi clock (such as those found on drum machines)
You can adjust the attack, how fast each "slice" rolls on and the duty how long each "slice" lasts.
Additionally rather than a wet/dry mix you have separate volume controls for both the dry (unaffected) tone and the wet (effected) tone.
You can also use a separate expression pedal to control the different parameters such as attack and duty.
O.K. so now we know what it does. Let's talk about how well it does it and how useful the effect is.
Playing through it takes a little getting used to. It works well with creating a groove type rhythm with long sustained notes. It also sounds cool when you "play to" the rhythm as in you strike the note/chord just as the attack is swelling. Poorly timed notes/chords are noticeable even when playing through a compressor. This can getting kind of tricky as I don't believe all of the patterns are in 4/4 timing and there can be several (or many) "slices" per beat.
I think that the patterns sort of lend themselves to techno style rhythms, but certainly open the doors for creative expression as long as you have an open mind. I tend to play pretty heavily distorted tones which really lend themselves to this effect. I don't think it works nearly as well with clean tones. Though I am sure with enough experimentation, you could get some pretty cool sounds out of it even with a clean tone.
The coolest thing about this effect is that it will get you jamming. Between all the variables, you could spend hundreds of hours experimenting with riffs.
It is not the type of effect that you will have on in every song, but there are definitely sounds to be discovered that would be impossible without this effect.
As far as I am concerned it is a keeper.
Aaron
I almost forgot to mention. There is a sound on sound feature that allows you to record a short phrase and then play over the top of it. I rarely use this feature because I have a dedicated looping pedal but it is definitely cool bonus.

I just got my HOG today, and although I cant give a thorough review of the product I will give you mi first impressions.
I cant give a thorough review mainly because this is an instrument in itself and will require months of use to master it... perhaps years! I own a Micro Synth and it is far less complicated and it took me a whole year to really get comfortable with it, and I'm still learning new sounds and new techniques each time I use it.
Unlike the Micro Synth this is polyphonic and tracks full chords. However I've found that it tracks 3 strings better, sometimes 6 string chords fart out a little.
Picking chords quickly can also produces some unwanted motor-boating. But with the right setting and the right technique it sounds pretty awesome, and they arent hard to do. I'm not that great of a guitar player and I found it right off.
The expression pedal makes it the most fun of all. Freeze + Gliss being the most notable.
Now I can do away with my crappy Jim Dunlop volume pedal and I dont have to get the EHX Freeze (since this has both functions).
Over all its pretty easy to use and very noob friendly.

DigiTech JML2 JamMan Stereo Looper Phrase Sampler Pedal Review

DigiTech JML2 JamMan Stereo Looper Phrase Sampler Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I play with loopers a lot, and wanted to like this looper, but found it lacking. If you just want to store pre-recorded loops and recall them to play along with, it may be one of the better loopers out there. But for live performance looping, I find myself going back to my Boomerang III. The JamMan requires too much bending over, so its not optimized for hands-free operation. You can't play independent loops that are of different lengths. But it is easy to use and provides the ability to record and recall loops, so I could recommend it for folks who want a simple, easy, but inflexible looper. Also, why did they add an XLR mic input with no phantom power option? Silly! And you can't use a microphone in one channel and guitar in the other for split channel stereo voice and guitar. Silly! Back to my Boomerang, people!

This thing is amazing, for the price you pay you get what you deserve. For years I have been turning the guitar itself down and playing covered up in the only position that has the least amount of hum. I have spent hundreds chasing a way to control this to be a least tolerable. ISP has provided it for a couple of hundred.I Really wish they would have come up with a few years back, they would have saved me countless hours of frustration. Seriously, whether your a single coil or a hum bucker player you need this pedal. Loop or at the end of your string it is the absolute best in its category. I will never consider parting with it. Get yours today , you've read this far. Put it in the cart, you will be very glad you did. :-)

The Decimator G String is a noise reduction pedal that delivers performance like that of the renowned ISP Decimator ProRackG. The Decimator G String provides a totally independent channel of sound reduction that can be inserted into a series effects loop or after a preamp section with the advantage of having the Decimator level detectors track the guitar signal directly. With the G String pedal you can set the threshold and no matter what level of noise the Decimator will track perfectly without any side effects. And the amazing thing is that you can switch from high gain to your clean channel and never have to switch the Decimator G String off due to the threshold being set too high. It's simply transparent. The noise reducing pedal has an input to connect a guitar directly and a buffered output signal to feed the front of a guitar rig directly while providing a separate audio channel of Decimator that can be inserted in the signal chain of any guitar rig. You can insert any other pedals between the output of the Decimator G String and the input of your guitar amplifier. This allows the Decimator G String pedal to remove any level of noise you may have even with overdrive pedals at the front end of the amp.
