Fishman AFX Pedal - Reverb Review

Fishman AFX Pedal - Reverb
Average Reviews:

This is definitely a high quality fx pedal! It's built like a tank and you couldn't ask for better quality reverbs - they are rich and lush and very "tweak-able." There are three reasons I give this 4 stars instead of 5:
1. This thing eats 9v batteries pretty quickly, quicker than most pedals I've used;
2. It didn't come with an AC adapter; and,
3. For $250, it should have come with the adapter and the kitchen sink.
That said, it's a very worthy pedal for acoustic reverb.

Moog Music MF103 Moogerfooger Twelve Stage Phaser Pedal Review

Moog Music MF103 Moogerfooger Twelve Stage Phaser Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just bought this pedal and I must say, I will never again buy any other chorus/flange/phase shifter pedal again! I have a Boss BF-3 stereo flange and an Electro-Harmonix small cone full-chorus unit and neither of them even come close to the prestige of the Moog stage phaser. The tones and sounds that this pedal produces are like none that I have ever heard before. This pedal comes fully load with an extremely diverse collection of sounds that opens your ears to a whole new world of noises! An excellent choice.

The MF-103 produces two comb-filter responses. They are called 6-Stage and 12-Stage, because of the number of phase-shifting circuits that are used internally. The 6-Stage mode has three dips in its frequency response, while the 12-Stage mode has six dips. These two modes have distinctly different sound qualities. In addition, the MF-103 features a variable feedback circuit which increases the resonance, or 'depth' of the phaser sound. Features RATE rotary control, which varies LFO's frequency over a 250:1 range. AMOUNT rotary control, which adjusts the amount by which the LFO output varies the phaser sweep. SWEEP rotary control, which moves the phaser frequency response over a six-octave range. RESONANCE rotary control, which adjusts the height and sharpness of the peaks of the phaser frequency response. DRIVE rotary control, which adjusts the gain of the audio input to the phaser. OUTPUT LEVEL rotary control, which balances the phaser signals with the bypassed signal. LO-HI rocker switch, which chooses between the low LFO range (0.01 Hz to 2.5 Hz) and the high LFO range (1.0 Hz to 250 Hz). LEVEL, a three-color LED that is used to set the DRIVE control. LFO, a LED that indicates the LFO rate. whether the phaser is active or bypassed. ON/BYPASS, a rugged, smooth-acting 'stomp switch'. Phasing is one of the best ways to impart motion to a track and to make sounds come alive. With the MF-103 Phaser you can get swirling, shimmering, vibrating effects; fill up a whole stage from one sound source; even create brand new sonic textures. A phaser is a type of comb filter, so called because its frequency response has several dips and peaks, like the teeth of a comb. As the phaser response sweeps back and forth across the frequency spectrum, the harmonics of the audio input signal are alternately increased and decreased. This produces the classic phaser 'whooshing' sound.

Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal Review

Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Tremendous reverb, lots of options and controls, actually will work as an echo unit. The Cathedral is not a simple, "set a couple of controls and go" deal, the more time you spend learning about how actual reverberatio works: pre-delay, how tone is affected in the reverberation field, etc. -- the better off you'll be, and the better you'll sound.
Has the ability to store and access pre-sets, which is truly useful (more than one would be nice, but then it would be a much more complex pedal) but probably the coolest thing for me is the "infinite" feature. I'm in a three-piece band, and when I start a song, I can set a nice lush reverb, play a chord or get some note(s) feeding back, then hold the infinite button down, and play over the "wash". It's quite an awesome sound; the wash just continues on and on and the un-reverberated guitar plays over it. Sweet. Goes back to normal reverb operation when you take your foot off the button.
I'd buy it again, but I need some time to work on it and "find" the pre-sets for different songs.Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Pedal

Electro-Harmonix Ring Thing Modulator Guitar Effects Pedal Review

Electro-Harmonix Ring Thing Modulator Guitar Effects Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I always wanted to explore a ring modulator. This is not a one-trick pony thou. You have a tunable ring mod, tremolo, pitch shifter, upper band mod, low band mod along with a few weird things in between. This is a fun pedal for exploring non-traditional modulation applications. If you want a safe pretty effect, this may not suit your taste. This pedal goes beyond metal. It's electric guitar synthesis. Bell tones, sci-fi sounds, ethnic timbres. If you're looking for something new in sound, this is it.

Complex modulations with interactive parameters create any sound your mind can imagine. From metallic sweeps to subtle color changes to unique and limitless modulations, the Electro-Harmonix Ring Thing effects pedal will become your sonic dream machine.Articulate pitch shifting, preset tuning, selectable waveforms and external control delivers sound designer mystery, with a Rock and Roll edge. The EHX Ring Thing effect pedal has four selectable modes that use either frequency or pitch shift modulation: Ring Modulation, Side Modulation, Single Sideband—Upper Band, Single Sideband—Lower Band, and Pitch Shift. The ring modulator section builds upon the original EHX Frequency Analyzer, adding to it selectable carrier waveforms, sweepable filter, presets, and expression pedal control. Single-sideband modulation is a new effect based on ring modulation but with only one band present, making it a more harmonious effect. Finally, EHX added a powerful modulatable pitch shifter to this guitar pedal that can do detune effects, vibrato, chorus, transpose, or even whammy when you use an external expression pedal. Some possible samples and settings you can create with the EHX Ring Thing: Vibe-A-Tone: a control setting that produces a chorus/tremolo/vibrato effect Baritone guitar: thanks to pristine polyphonic pitch shifting, you can transform a standard tuned guitar into a baritone guitar or a 6-string bass Drop tuning with distortion: dropping a regularly tuned guitar down to B with the EHX Ring Thing and adding a distortion pedal afterwards produces a huge sound Tremolo bar effects: adding an expression foot pedal to the Electro-Harmonix Ring Thing produces classic dive-bomb effects using any electric guitar The Ring Thing guitar pedal set for two octaves above...

Electro-Harmonix Micro Synthesizer XO Analog Guitar Microsynth

The Electro Harmonix MicroSynth is truly amazing! There are no words to describe how versatile and unique the effect pedal can be. I highly advise checking out the EHX website to watch/listen to the demos available. The only complaint I have is that there is no way to store presets.
