(More customer reviews)For anyone interested in buying a ukulele and can afford it, the Applause Ukulele is the one to buy. If you've ever heard ukulele's before, you'll agree that most have a sound that's just not quite right. It's as if they are out of tune, even when they're not. I know some will argue that's how they're meant to sound, but it never sat well with me. I played classical guitar and I expected the better ukulele's would be able to emulate that same harmonious in tune timbre. Unfortunately, you can spend a thousand dollars and still not get a great sound (when compared to a classical guitar). Fortunately, I've now been proven wrong, the Applause ukulele sings like a guitar. If that's the sound you're after, you wont be disappointed.
P.S. I've also read a lot of stuff about the volume of this uke and I would say it's only down about 10% on volume, but it sure makes up for it in sound.
