(More customer reviews)This is a solid, heavy case which should provide a lot of protection to a keyboard.
It comes with two 'wedges', which are two firm, velvet-encased pieces with velcro backing that can be attached anywhere along the bottom of the case and will hold the keyboard in place side to side and front to back. It also comes with various other pieces which seem more suitable for attaching to the inside of the lid of the base
It would be extremely helpful to have a third wedge included. To keep the keyboard stationary, I initially used one wedge on the left side, and the other parallel to the front edge of the case, positioned so the back edge of the keyboard was all the way against the back wall. That made it difficult to retrieve the keyboard as there was no space to get my hand in from behind, which I need to do in order to get it out without injuring myself, as my keyboard (Yamaha MO-8) is around 40 pounds. (Might not sound like a lot, but given the way you have to grip it, especially when bending down, is quite a strain.)
Fortunately, I e-mailed Gator, and they send me an extra wedge from a broken case at no cost. (They don't sell these.) Now I can get my hands in more easily. I did have to cut up some of the other foam pieces and put them along the front and back edges so there would be enough surface area to hold the board securely.
The other issue is with the 'two-man carry' handles. There is a single handle on each end of the case. When two people are carrying it, the case wobbles quite a bit around the longitudinal axis. This is quite awkward, given the combined weight of my board and the case. If there were two handles on each end with space between, or one handle wide enough for two hands, it could remain much more stable when being carried.
