I've owned electric acoustic guitars in the past and was very excited to find a slim roundback guitar that has good, reliable and consistent sound. It sounds good with or without the amp. The strings that came with it were a bit 'horsey' so I replaced them with lighter/brighter strings. It's quick to tune and holds tune well in inclimate weather.After three months, I decided that I like it enough to get rid of my electric guitar altogether. I'll probably upgrade to a more expensive version from Ovation -- I like it so much, I'm kind of wishing I had bought one of the upper-end models now.

(More customer reviews)i got this for my husband to play. we had this for less than a month. the "?tail piece?" has a flaw in it where if you tune the guitar it pops out. mind you the guitar sounded realy nice when it first got to us, so it is a shame that this happens, that beeing said dean guitars has wounderful coustmer service department and had us send it back to them for repairs.... unfortunatly when it got back to us from them the problem had not been fixed and apon tuning the tail piece promptly poped right back out.....thankfully dean has offered to exchange it for a diffrent guitar :)

It sounds as good or even better because the Craviola shape gives it it's own ORIGINAL, UNIQUE sound. I would highly recommend this guitar to any guitar player at any playing level. Dean BOCA 12 String Semi Hollow Body Electric Guitar Classic Black Review

(More customer reviews)While many people might discount the Boca as a cheap, Korean Rickenbacker knockoff, it's not. It has it's own unique personality, and taken on its own terms, the Boca is very nice. The semi-hollow design gives the Boca a nice look, but doesn't affect the tone much; the Boca sounds pretty much like a solidbody. That's not a criticism - it's comparable to a Strat XII - but don't expect the wider range of mellow, jazzy sounds you can get from a true hollowbody guitar or even a semi-hollow Ric. Upon receiving the Boca it went straight to a local shop to get the action and intonation dialed in, so I can't speak to the setup from the factory, but with a bit of careful attention it's very playable.
It is attractive to look at and plays very nicely for a guitar in this price range. Still, it IS built to a price point. Upon close examination, the workmanship doesn't compare to a Rickenbacker, but that's not the point. It costs only a fraction of a Ric's price and the one I bought several years ago has held up nicely. It doesn't hold a tune as long as more expensive guitars, but it's not so bad as to be a bother.
There are not many choices in entry-level 12-string electrics, so there's very little to compare the Boca to. If you're a pro who's going to go out and gig with a twelve every night, spend the money for a Ric. On the other hand, if you currently play an electric six-string or an accoustic twelve and wonder if you'd enjoy an electric 12-string, the Boca is a great way to get your feet wet and experience something new without breaking the bank.

Luna Oracle Zen Acoustic/Electric Guitar Review

The description speaks of Rosewood inlay, its all plastic. The description says solid spruce and maple wood, its all laminate. The overall construction of the guitar was poorly put together. The jointing of the neck to the body was crooked, There was oversanding on the guitar which showed the plywood underneath the laminate. I returned this guitar shortly after I received it. This guitar was inspected by a certified luthier that happens to be a good friend of mine, and he pointed all of the problems. It would have cost just as much as I payed for the guitar to adjust it. I do not recommend buying anything from this company if you are a serious player, I teach guitar for a living, and Luna is by far the worst guitar I have come across. They had the nerve to put an inspection sticker on the guitar after it was built.

(More customer reviews)I've always wanted to get my hands on an Ovation guitar, but never had the opportunity to buy one, as these guitars are extremely expensive in my country. Finally I decided to buy one through ZoZo Music's Amazon shop (excellent, fast service, by the way) and let me tell you, I absolutely love my decision to get one of these babies.
The sound of this guitar is awesome, clear, and deep. Warm and soothing. You won't believe how good it sounds and plays. It comes with a built-in tuner (which is a great thing, by the way) and an equalizer. ZoZo was even kind enough to throw in a strap and amp cables (don't know if all Ovations come with these accessories, though).
This guitar is loud. And believe me, I do mean LOUD! I plugged that into my amp and damn, was it loud. I had to turn the volume down to 2.
Anyways, beautiful guitar. Sounds great. Plays great. And feels sturdy enough. If you don't have one, GET ONE!

The guitar sounds ok but I really don't know if the cracks are a minor or major problem.

(More customer reviews)I love this guitar -- I purchased one of these Ovation Celebrity 12-strings about a year and a half ago. I also have an electric solid body guitar and a small 6-string acoustic, but this is the one with the most beautiful voice. It's just on a different plain from six string guitars, much like hearing a singing duet harmonizing. A concern I had before I bought it was tuning. How was I going to make sure all those strings were in tune, and, wasn't the tuning situation for 12-strings different? Not to worry, this thing has a built in electronic tuner. You just pop in a battery, push a button, and then whenever you hit a string, the device gives you the note you're closest to, as well as an arrow showing whether you're too high or too low. You just adjust the tension of the string accordingly. I would recommend getting Ovation's hard body case. It's an additional cost, and it's not cheap, but it gives you so much protection. There are "gig bags" as they call them that can be purchased for this, but they're pretty flimsy. This guitar, like all Ovations, looks unusual, although you cannot see it in the photo, you'd need a side shot for that. The bodies are made of a special high-tech plastic and the guitars have a rounded bottom, much different from other guitars. But there's a reason for that: It's an ideal shape, but not something you could easily accomplish with wood. When you hear "plastic," don't think that means they're cheaply made. Not so; this is a fine quality instrument. And when you hear the wonderful tone, you wonder how they could sell them for such a relatively low price. Perhaps the only drawback is that it has such a full-bodied sound -- as do most all 12-strings -- it may not be a good idea for those living in apartments or condos, unless you're very discreet in your playing.
