This is just a sweet, sweet little guitar. It's a short-scale guitar and the neck slides really well, you can do some really cool slinky stuff between the light string tension allowed by the short scale and the quickness of the neck. The fit and finish are perfect, just perfect -- the thick 50's-formica-yellow finish is flawless, the frets have no rough spots, everything is beautiful. The sound is classic Fender single-coil bite, sort of between a Strat and a Telecaster, except without the humm. I was initially dubious about the 50's-style 3-barrel bridge and the "classic" tuners, but once I learned how to deal with them they work perfectly and add to the character of the guitar. I've played a lot of guitars over the years, but this is by far my favorite -- it's light and comfortable for long gigs, it sounds great, it plays wicked good, and it looks great. And for this price, what a bargain!
Only downside: It comes with ridiculously light strings. I replaced the original strings with #10 Elixir Nanoweb teflon-coated strings, which are still plenty slinky due to the short scale but make it slide even better than the original strings and it's possible to play *in* tune if you so desire (the originals are #8 strings, you just can't play them in tune on a short scale guitar like this one).
