(More customer reviews)I started playing instruments in 1995 and started playing bass guitar in 1998. I started playing electric guitar around 2001. I custom built my first bass in 2000. This was the first acoustic guitar I have purchased. I did a lot of research and listened to the recordings on Luna's website. I had wanted to purchase the fauna phoenix, but one day I saw this one for sale for less than 250 shipped. I bought it unseen and unplayed, breaking my first rule of guitar shopping, and was very nervous before it arrived.
My apprehension was unfounded. The guitar is stunning. The abalone inlays look excellent. The wood is beautiful. Even the tuning machines look good. The physical beauty of the guitar is surpassed only by its sound. I strum it as I walk past it's stand because it just sounds so good. The harmonics are amazing.
The guitar was set up perfectly when it arrived. The strings where brand new, so it's tuning fluctuated a bit for about a week. Since then the tuning has been very stable, and the strings all seem to detune in tune with each other. The tuner makes it so this isn't a problem. The on board tuner is very convenient, so much so that I couldn't find my electric tuner when I needed it for one of my basses.
I have several friends who have played acoustic guitar much longer than I have and they all love it. From my limited experience it sounds as good or better than any other acoustic I have played. It sounds much better than my friends cheap fender, and on par or better than another friends taylor.
I only have 2 complaints. First, there is no strap button on the neck of my guitar. Second, I don't know what kind of strings are on it. I want to restring it with the same kind because they sound great. I usually try 4 or 5 different string sets before I stick with one for a guitar. However, no one has answered my questions concerning this on the Luna Guitars Forum.
This is now my favorite guitar (out of 7, basses included). If you can find one for 250, its a steal. Buy it.

Yamaha FS720S Acoustic Guitar, Natural Review

(More customer reviews)My step-son and I decided to take guitar lessons and soon after decided to go get a guitar for my birthday. We talked to the salesman at guitar center who explained the differences between a few models. This one was labeled as folk guitar meaning it has a narrower waist- it also has a solid spruce top rather than laminate. For us the narrow waist felt natural and light. The second the salesman played it, we could hear the obvious difference that the spruce made, it sounded vibrant and bright. I can't say enough about how much we love this guitar. GREAT buy for the money.

(More customer reviews)This is my first new guitar. Its great and plays really nicely. i did not want to spend a fortune on a guitar and liked the look of this model. I realised that it was a guitar built to a price but i was still very impressed by its playability. I have made a few improvements. I had it professionally set up with a bone saddle and nut and replaced the strings with elixir lights, also replaced the pins with ebony. This whole process cost another $200 but boy was it worth it. Has a soft Martin like sound now with really nice highs. the action is great and I can recommend having any new guitar like this set up professionally with these few changes. Had a friend who plays well and owns a D28 around for tea. He played this guitar all night and was seriously impressed. The extra work has made this guitar sound fantastic and its deffinatly a keeper. Its also incredibly beautiful. With just these few changes has made a mediocre bargain basement laminate a real gem.

Taylor Guitars 615ce Jumbo Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)2011 purchase. I absolutely love my new 615ce. It's perfect, has a great balanced sound, strong even blend. It's amazing with finger picking and I'm finding its sweet spot for strumming. The ES electronics is bizzar. I wish I could have found more reviews that weren't promotional materials to understand the problems with this pick-up system. Maybe in time I'll find a solution... or just put a better system in the guitar. Currently the high B and E strings are louder than the rest of the strum. They stick out and make the sound unbalanced... totally unlike the amazing natural sound of the guitar. I even sent it back to Taylor for them to work on it... but it came back to me sounding pretty much the same. I would give the guitar a 5 star... but I mainly play live and plugged in... which is not enhancing the bands overall sound. OUCH. YUCK. I've put other guitars in our system and can make them beautiful sounding. I worked on the Taylor in our system for 1/2 hour and never came up with a satisfactory sound... until I put a mic on it, which then instantly made it sound the way it's supposed to. After spending so much money on a guitar, I wish it would sound on stage like it does in the privacy of the show-room or my living room... especially since that's exactly what Taylor is promoting their ES to do. I feel like I've been lied to... hood-winked. The emperor has no clothes... "It's a great system, the best." All of Taylor's promotion says in videos and written. UMMM... are you hearing the same thing I am? Please listen to the guitar in the store and check the system out first before buying... and try two or three kinds of amps just to be sure you know what your dealing with. I hope and pray my attitude about this pick-up will change over time. Maybe there is just something I'm missing that I've never missed in my 25 years of playing and sound mixing.

Blueridge BR-43 Contemporary 000 Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this guitar on "Black Friday", received it within a couple of days, and have enjoyed playing since then. It is a small 000 sized body, with mahogany back and sides (laminate) and bone nut and saddle (nice touch). Very comfortable thin style neck. While no one is going to mistake it for a Martin, it's an excellent player, was set up well right out of the box, and is a terrific guitar for just picking up on the spur of the moment. I replaced the strings with a set of Elixer medium-light (slightly heavier wound strings), which helped bring out the bass a bit more. Someday I'll likely replace it with a Martin, etc., but for now it's a terrific "couch" guitar that gets picked up and played a lot.

Luna Muse Parlor Bubinga Acoustic Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)I own two of these wonderful solid-wood guitars and I think it's one of the best instruments out there for the costs and quality of materials. The Luna Muse Bubinga is a great small-size professional quality guitar.
It's hard to find a solid-wood (no fillers, no fake woods) guitar that still are hand-made as well. The sound is crisp and clean and surprisingly voices a nice full sound -- i.e. it sounds much bigger than its compact size. It's a great travel guitar and has electronics as well for when you need to plug it in. It makes a perfect starter guitar for young students but I've enjoyed it as well as a 20 year guitar player.
A quick internet search for good travel or starter guitars shows that this is one of the best buys out there and it's almost impossible to find a comparable guitar (low price and solid wood). You won't be disappointed if you get one of these!

(More customer reviews)I allready own a professional model Giannini steel string Spruce and Indian Rosewood six string beatuty and I wanted a twelve string to complement it.The Bollivian Rosewood(Morado) wood is wonderfull with a nice bookmatched back and the spruce top is flawless.The back had a few voids in the stain and makes the new guitar look cheaper than it is.There were a few small dings in the headstick and the string set was not up to par with my $1,000.00 (here at Amazon)model.I replaced the strings with D'Addarios and polished the back with Martin Guitar polish a few times and the increased shine made the back look better.Thge guitar plays very well as good as my Brazillian Washburn 12 string and my maple Sigma 12 string.All in all I am very satified with the guitar.$467.00 with a soft gig bag and free shipping made this a good purchase I just wish that I could have had my pick of a few guitars to choose from.The odd shape makes this guitar very comfortable to play.

Taylor Guitars 310ce Dreadnought Acoustic Electric Guitar Review

(More customer reviews)This guitar is amazing. It is very crisp and bright so it is great for finger picking. Taylor is the new premier guitar maker. I was going to get a Gibson but they don't have different size necks. The neck on a Taylor, which is real ebony, is not even glued on so a repair guy can change the angle in ten minutes. Also the fretboard and neck continue up into the body, intead of the neck stopping and the fretboard resting on the body. When a neck bends it caused a bump at the 14 fret. Taylor has fixed this problem. Their pickup is the best. Research it before you spend money. The 300 series is the cheapest line with the expression system (yeah!!) A mint vintage Gibson is worth 100,000 and that is why they are not changing there technology. But there is better technology nowadays. Why not use it. The finish on a Taylor is UV cured in ten minutes. This shaves 3 days and a bit of money off the cost of the guitar. The wood doesn't warp in those three days. Also, the finish only has ten minutes to sink into the pores. I think that has something to do with the tone. I own the 314ce and it's bright tone is great for finger picking and strumming. The dreadnaught is supposed to be better for pure strumming. The best guitars for tone are supposed to be Gibson, Martin, Taylor and Takamine and all have a pretty large list of pro players but Taylor is taking off. Look at the list on there website. There are some other good one out there. This guitar is too sweet though. I never feel the need to review almost anythng but I am going to copy this and paste it on the other Taylor guitars, not just the 314ce. --pickup, neck finish and TONE!

(More customer reviews)I have had my dn3 for about a year and a half. It all started one day I went with my son to Guitar Center. We went into the acoustic room and proceeded to play nearly every guitar there. I already owned a Taylor Big Baby, so I was a bit partial to them. The sound is so pleasing to my ears. Anyway, I wanted to like a lot of the guitars, but I didn't. In fact, almost every time I picked one up I was disappointed by what I heard, except when I picked up the dn3. Not only did it sound beautiful, it actually sang in my hands. With every strum it sang again and again and again. I kept looking at it thinking it was alive. After a year and a half with my dn3, playing it for my own pleasure, song writing and worship leading, it continues to sing each and every time I play it. I often play with others in worship and I have to sometimes bite my tongue wanting to tell some of them to get a real guitar. For years I felt that like person - the one who plays, but just always feels like they don't have the instrument they need to truly sound beautiful. Now I do, and I'm loving it. I know that there are higher end Taylors that look more beautiful. I would love to have a guitar that has all the abalone inlays and such, but by far the most important thing to me is sound. Yes, your guitar is pretty, and has decent action and playability, but how does it sound? Mine sounds like heaven.

Taylor Guitars Baby Taylor, BT1, Natural Review

(More customer reviews)Not too shabby at all. It really has a wonderful sound for such a small guitar. No, it doesn't have the bass response of larger and even some cheaper full size guitars but it sounds clean and bright and does the job when a big sound isn't required. Regarding the size of the frets and playing it, it is of course smaller and sometimes some chords seem a little bunched but then on some chords it is easier to play. Just depends on the size of your hands. The size can be both a plus and a negative. A plus when traveling or playing on the couch or in bed. A negative when wanting a bigger sound but it's not designed for performance although in the right application can easily sound good enough for certain performances. The action is a tiny high out of the factory compared to many guitars and that might turn off new players but it could be worse so no big deal. I personally love it but my hands aren't huge and I don't require a big sound. Great guitar for kids to learn on for sure although cheaper ones could be found without the same quality. It may be small and cheaper (minor corners have been cut to save money in the building process) than some Taylor guitars but it is still a Taylor and it sounds like one too and that's a wonderful thing for this little guy! :) Btw, it comes with a nice tan colored Taylor gig bag made just for the baby Taylor. AND, if this guitar is too small for you but you still want quality in a slightly smaller package you might want to look at the 15/16th sized big baby Taylor or even some parlor guitars. Just a thought.

That said, it has very good tone and its smaller size lets you wrap yourself around it and really feel in control- Mine was well-made and sounds as good as acoustics costing a lot, lot more. I've shown it to professionals who were impressed with its quality and sound. Definitely a good choice not only for a beginner but for more advanced players, as well.

(More customer reviews)A PERSONAL OPINION. The Taylor BT2 is a really nice guitar. I did not say The Taylor BT2 is a really nice little guitar. Why? We could talk about guitar size, shape, wood type, action, nut size, and acoustics but it is easier to just say, this guitar is very easy to play and sounds much bigger than it really is. I bought this guitar to carry to parties and family gatherings (I'm the lease musically talented in my family but I got guts) as I was getting tired of toting my big Ovation back and fourth. This little guitar with the big voice was just what I was looking for. Fact is, I messed around trying to buy a used Baby Taylor off eBay and found this guitar sells for $220 to $305 USED. Shoot, I bought a new one for $299. This is a very nice guitar and I am sure the model BT1 is good too; I just like mahogany better than spruce. I recommend this Baby Taylor to anyone as a first guitar or as in my case, a second.

(More customer reviews)Taylor Guitars did a really nice job on Taylor Swift's first signature model and the sound is really articulate for such a small guitar and would recommend highly and really like the fact that it has a solid spruce top and will get better as the guitar ages...Always wobndered why there where so many fans of the baby taylor line but this guitar can give you the sound of a dreadnought but in a much smaller size...like the fact it has an ebony fretboard and the silk screen rosette looks really good on the guitar and recommend this guitar for everyone..
