Epiphone EF-500RA Masterbilt Collection Acoustic Guitar, Fingerstyle Neck, Natural Satin Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I tried this guitar out over the weekend, bought one, and it is an amazing instrument. I'm not given to impulse purchases this expensive, but it was love at first strum ;) As with all of the Masterbilt guitars, the quality is outstanding. I could not find a flaw anywhere on the instrument. The abalone inlays are generous, and I love the look. If you aren't into the decorations, the lower end models are the same but less ornate as far as I could tell from the specs. I have been playing fingerstyle for a couple of years, but this is the first fingerstyle guitar I have tried. What a difference! First off the neck, the V neck is very comfortable and makes barre chords much easier. For normal playing the V sits comfortable in the hand. The neck on this guitar is wider than a normal guitar, it doesn't take too much time to adjust. If you have bigger fingers this will be great, but my fingers are small and it's not a problem. Now on to the sound.. The instrument has a smaller body, which I assume accounts for the diminished bass, and overall excellent tone balance. My AJ model Masterbilt was always boomy, the bass overwhelming the other strings when fingerpicking, not this guitar. I find the guitar easier to play when I'm not having to compensate for the bass. It is easier to get a good volume from the guitar as well I found.
Try this guitar and you will be amazed!
