(More customer reviews)Preface: I am primarily a guitar player, not bass. That being said, I've been on the lookout for another bass ever since selling my old Kent some 20+ years ago & couldn't find much at all about this bass when I was considering it. So, here's my take on it:
This Cort is about as straightforward as they come:
2 J-style pickups
2 volume/ 1 tone
24-fret rosewood fretboard
It's well balanced, both while seated or standing. The neck is straight, frets level, and the finish looks perfect, although it looks almost green in person rather than the deep blue as in the pics.
In fact, about the only things that I can gripe about this Indonesian-made axe are: 1) the pots don't have a very good sweep (ie, the volume goes from almost nothing to maximum between around 6 and 10 on the dial) and 2) it could use some better strings, but I've yet to find ANY guitar that didn't need new strings right out of the box.
Not being a bass player, I brought it over to a friend (the bassist in my band) and had him give it the once-over... he was HIGHLY impressed. In fact, he stated that he actually preferred the feel of it over his Guild 5-string because the Cort has a thinner neck!
Lastly, the stock photo on this page makes it look a little oddly-shaped. So, I've uploaded some shots of mine for comparison.
