Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo Review

Acoustic B200 200W 1x15 Bass Combo

This is a very nice item. Specially for its price.
If you think it will suck, then you're definetely wrong.
It has a nice eq power and it's very loud for it's 200W RMS. I'd recommend it for small to medium sized gigs and to jam.
It has a nice vintage sound, and the built-in horn gives you the treble you want in a nice proportion.
I'd definetely recommend it for it's price. You may find better thing with more money, but you'll have a hard time searching for a quality like this in this price.
Definetely recommend it

The Acoustic B200 professional combo is designed for large club and live applications where the sound of its 15" bass driver and horn will fill the stage with warmth and punch. That's because it pounds a massive 200 watts RMS into the internal 15" speaker, delivering the classic Acoustic sound in a portable, professional design. The two bass inputs are designed to accommodate both active and passive bass instruments while the Gain and Volume controls give you complete control over the character of your tone. Increase the gain for some old school rock tones, or lower it and turn up the volume for great clean, classic or funk tones. The preamp includes very natural and tube-like compression as well as a harmonically rich distortion circuit, which keeps your tone musical—even at high volume levels. The B200 also includes a notch filter to tailor your mids, and a six-band EQ for exact control over every nuance of your basss tone. Rear panel features include a parallel Effects Loop, tweeter on/off switch, and XLR balanced Line Out with Level Control and Ground Lift. The series extension speaker jack provides an output for an additional cabinet such as the Acoustic B115 or B410. The heritage of Acoustic comes through loud and clear in the B200--a seriously professional amp for serious bassists.

I RECEIVED MY PN 410 HLF SPEAKER 2 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE PLAYED 4 NIGHTS USING THIS SPEAKER POWERED BY A AMPEG PRO 6 AMP. MY OLD SPEAKERS ARE, 1 PR 410 HLF AND 1 PR 212 HLF. BOTH THESE SPEAKER ARE AROUND 120 LBS EACH. THIS NEW "PRO NEO" AT 64 LBS BLOWS THE GRILLS OF MY OLD PRO SPEAKERS. I PLAY A 64 FENDER P BASS WITH FLAT WOUNDS AND A PICK. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND HAVE HAD SOME BIG RIGS IN THE PAST. THIS SPEAKER IS CLEAN AND TIGHT. THE ONLY THING THAT COULD MAKE THIS SPEAKER SOUND ANY BETTER IS IF MY GRANDSON WILL LIFT MY OLD AMPEG SVT RACKMOUNT TUBE AMP (85 LBS) OUT OF THE TRAILER AND CARRY TO THE GIGS!!!!!!!!! IN THE OLD DAYS A SPEAKER HAD TO HAVE AT LEAST A 15 POUND MAGNET, NOT ANY MORE. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CAB FOR ANY STYLE PICKER. CHRIS

Aguilar GS 412 Bass Cabinet, 4 Ohm Review

Aguilar GS 412 Bass Cabinet, 4 Ohm
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I decided to purchase this through Amazon because it $100.00 cheaper that anyone else. The problem started when they could not deliver on-time, not only that, I had to call the shipping company to arrange delivery, otherwise you have to wait for them to call you to arrange a delivery time. Received the shipment only to find out that they shipped the wrong item. They shipped a padded cover for a DB112 cabinet, but the part number on the bag was for the GS412 cab. I make arrangements for the correct item to be shipped, but Amazon detailed the reason for shipping a new item was that the first item was defective. Then I get an email stating that the replacement item has shipped and that if they do not receive the "defective" item within 30 day they will bill me another $1199.00 plus shipping. According to Amazon, they are expecting a GS412 cab, not a paaded cover for a DB112 cab that cost ~$50.00.
I will never, let me repeat that, NEVER buy from Amazon again.
In terms of rating the GS412 cab is a great cab, but Amazon sucks. I can't reveiw the cab because I still haven't received it.

Line 6 Low Down Studio 110 Amp Review

Line 6 Low Down Studio 110 Amp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this amp a month ago, and yup, it packs a punch. I actually have to turn it down when I play it at my church. I like the R&B and the Clean. The Synth is pretty crazy stuff. The Rock definately has that tone, the Grind I don't really have a need for.
When using my headphones I'ts hard to hear the different tones, but I'm pretty sure I just need to get a better pair. I don't fully understand how the cabinet simulater and line out feature differ. I am glad the power cable disconnects.
Overall lightweight, durable, and great options for the buck. I researched amps for awhile before buying and this one stood out above many others. I luckily got to try one at a music store before I bought it online.
I've only been playing bass for about a 1 1/2 years, and am sure I will come to appreciate this amp more as I improve.

Ampeg BA115HP BassAmp Series 1x15 Solid State Bass Combo Amplifier, 220 Watt Review

Ampeg BA115HP BassAmp Series 1x15 Solid State Bass Combo Amplifier, 220 Watt
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a studio sessio bassist, so I normally do not have much need for a bass amp. From time to time, I may need an amp in a studio for a "miked" tone for the recording, but in most cases I run direct with great results.
However, I had a dilema: When a studio client would ask me to play live with them, I frequently had to turn down the gig because I had great basses but no amp. I was looking on zZound's website (http://www.zzounds.com) and found this bass amp on sale as a B-stock item. B-stock is great value because it is slight used, usually returned merchandise that has been completely checked over and resold from the manufacturer. I bought this amp for considerably less than retail, it came with full warranty, and it had no cosmetic flaws when I opened the box. I plugged the amp in and hooked up my bass to test the amp, and the tone was amazing! This small combo amp, pound for pound, outperforms the bass stack that I owned before!
This amp has 220 watts, which is plenty of power for where musicians in the real world play. Face it: when was the last time you played an arena?! =D This is perfect for a gig in a restaurant, small bar, or club. This combo has an XLR output as well, so when recording or playing a larger venue or an outdoor festival, running to the PA and/or the recording console is extremely easy. I'm not a fan of 15" drivers, but again, I got such a good deal on this amp that I couldn't pass it up! I would have preferred a 2x10 configuration, which Ampeg does have available if you prefer that configuration. Nevertheless, the 15" driver with the 1" compression horn does produce clean, clear, versitile tone. I have used this combo for anything from rock, jazz, blues, metal, pop, country, gospel, etc. I have never had any complaints about the tone.
The preamp filters consist of a simple 3-band EQ (bass, mid, treble), which sounds surprisingly good for only being a 3-band EQ. There is also a 5-position switch with predetermined EQ curves from the factory: 1 & 2 scoop out the mids (1 = heavy scoop, 2 = light scoop), 3 is flat (no coloration), 4 & 5 boost the upper mids while keeping the lows and lower mids flat. All of these positions have very usable tones by themselves, but then when you use the 3-band EQ to tweak the tone... BAM!! Ampeg tonal magic!! I don't know what Ampeg does to make this little box sound so good, but whatever it is works! ;)
Some other features that I like are the BUILT IN TUNER (huge convenience, and the tuner is accurate), a mute switch (always a welcome addition to a bass amp as far as I'm concerned), and removable casters so that moving the amp around is a breeze. Also, the classic black Ampeg look. I can go to any kind of gig, and the musicians and fans will immediately know what kind of amp I'm playing and how good it will sound. There's also RCA left and right (that's red and white) connections so that you can hook up your iPod, CD player, metronome, or drum machine while you practice. I usually don't practice plugged in, so that doesn't really matter much to me. :)
There are also a couple of little things that Ampeg thought of that don't really matter to players unless something goes wrong... For example: ever broken a knob off your combo amp because it stuck out too far and your car door hit it? I think we've all been there... The tops of the control knobs are slightly under flush from the top of the cabinet. Minimal risk for knob breakage. The power cable is built in, though I would have preferred a standard detachable power cable. Again, though, minimal risk. There is a space on the back of the cabinet under the head that's about 4-5" tall and is deep enough to tuck the power cable away when no plugged in. They even thought to put velcro tabs in this spot to secure the cable.
A couple of things that I would have liked to see on this amp include a compresser and lighter weight. The power amp does have a built in limiter to protect the amplifier from signal peaks. This does have some effect on the tone, but it is minimal. I like a compressed tone, but I can buy a foot pedal for compression. Not a huge-mongous deal. Also, this thing is an 85 lbs BEAST!! The casters do make lugging this heavy box around easy once it is on the ground, but getting it in/out of the car is a little rough on my lower back. If you don't mind the weight too much, this will not be an issue. I would have also liked to see an effects loop and an auxilary speaker output. I think Ampeg was trying to keep this amp very simple, so I understand why these features aren't there. It still sucks a bit though...
Overall, I was very impressed with the performance, tone, look, and everything else with this particular combo amp. I am very glad that I bought it, happy about the good deal I got, and overjoyed with the tone this box puts out.

I've been using Ampeg proucts for 35 years, this cabinet is a perfect example of classic ampeg sound. It has plenty of deep response and a horn driver that you can control to add highs. It's compact and powerful enough to accomodate any performance setting. It's constructed extremely well and can handle plenty of watts. It's the best 4x10 cabinet I've heard and used. You won't be dissappointed.

The SVT-410HLF delivers devastating low-end bass, all the way down to 28Hz, thanks to four 10" speakers working together to move a tremendous amount of air. Ampeg BA112 BassAmp Series 1x12 Solid State Bass Combo Amplifier, 50 Watt Review

Ampeg BA112 BassAmp Series 1x12 Solid State Bass Combo Amplifier, 50 Watt
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased a BA112 almost a year ago from another vendor, and highly recommend it. Ampeg has included a selector switch that allows the user to move between 5 EQ pre-sets, as well as separate controls for bass, mid-range, and treble. I've found a workable set of settings for the knobs and now have three of the pre-sets that I move between for jazz, pop, and rock. The tilt back feature is great when playing through a house sound system and using the amp as a monitor. This amp has a true line out, unlike some amps that have headphone jacks that disable the amp when you are plugged in. There's a separate headphone out, too. The great thing, of course, about the line out is that you have more control over tone and volume and are just leaving it entirely in the hands of the sound engineer. In the church where I play we have some somewhat suspect direct boxes that tend to kick in and out at random. Not a big problem for me when I cart my Ampeg in; I can simply use the amp and work around the problems caused by the faulty direct boxes. The BA112 is sturdy and really has plenty of dynamic and tonal range, including very good bass response, especially for the cost.
