Great Divide Songsmith SMCE-18-NA Orchestra Acoustic Electric Guitar Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)This is my second songsmith, the first had a flawed pickup. But both guitars had astonishing sound, I mean really astonishing. The first one was a natural dreadnought, which was just gorgeous, but I went with the Delphic Red orchestra model on the second one, because I wanted to use a white pearl pickguard. I must say the Delphic Red with a pearlescent pickguard makes people stare, it is that beautiful. But mine came with a deep flaw in the soundboard, which is a bummer but does not affect the sound, which is just incredible, so I kept it. The action is so sweet that you will feel as though it was made just for you only. I have owned Yamahas and Ibanez guitars in the past, this one blows them away big time. In fact I have personally never heard or played better. That being said, the little star-of-david fret markers are a detraction, they just don't look right on a guitar. Both of my songsmiths were beautiful, but both had flaws on closer inspection. The ship with rusty strings so change them immediately. This isn't shocking as all orient-made guitars come here by the slow boat and the strings always rust on the way.
The electronics are very nice and functional, the onboard tuner is a dream and my second one amplifies evenly across the spectrum, overall very nice.
