I purchased a new HD100 through amazon, and it did not include a power cord. (This was my fourth Line 6 product purchase because I like the modeling tones of their amp effects, and I needed a head for a Marshall slant cab I own.) Up to now, I've been very pleased with Line 6 and have spent almost two grand on their products. No more! Why? Their service sucks.
Now on to my sad tale of frustration with getting the cord. I contacted amazon, and they told me I would have to send the amp back if I wanted the cord, and since it seemed to me that Line 6 was at fault, I contacted them instead. You need to know that Line 6 does not provide any immediate access to genuine Line 6 personnel; what they do is hire chattel slaves to earn points on their website for answering service and tech questions. No direct phone number like at apple, for example, and no direct email to a real paid employee anywhere on their website.
For two weeks, I went back and forth with their so-called "experts" who used specious reasoning to try and convince me that amazon was at fault (now why would amazon open up a new box to get at a five dollar cord?) They kept saying that it was amazon's fault, while giving me lectures about how I should beware of electrocution by using the wrong cord ( how could I use a cord I never received?) They treated me like a dunce while complaining about what a rude guy I was.
Finally, after I threatened to complain with the Federal Trade Commission, I was put in communication with an actual paid employee. He told me I would probably get the cord, but it's now a week later, and I haven't gotten it yet.
As far as the amp goes, I wish I could tell you, but I can't because I haven't gotten the cord yet. Maybe someday, but as for now, I'm headed to the FTC to file that complaint.
