Breedlove Master Class Northwest Classic Acoustic Guitar, Made in U.S.A. Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)I bought this at an extreme discount which is the only reason I took a chance on it. I did do a little research on Myrtlewood as it is not a popular tone wood. Everyone said it was like Koa or Maple with more of a bottom end. It does have a creamy bass, not boomy at all. The highs ring out and sometimes too much when strumming. This is a great sounding fingerstyle guitar. The neck width is perfect for me. It has the sweetest sound of any guitar I've ever had. The Myrtlewood figuring is awesome. When you buy a guitar sight unseen you hope for the best and I got the best. The action is a just a tad high for me, but not too high where I can't play it. I'm very pleased with this guitar. Besides the wood, the other appointments like the totem inlays, spoked sound hole inlay, neck binding, and ebonized tuners just make the guitar all that more special. This is a custom shop guitar and the build quality is spot on. I have the Breedlove Revival OOO-R Deluxe too and I have to say the Breedlove custom shop guitars are just fabulous.

Built almost entirely with woods indigenous to the Pacific Northwest, the Northwest Classic introduced the guitar world to the amazing tonal properties of Myrtlewood. Found only in Oregon's coastal ranges, Myrtlewood exhibits both the deep bass of Rosewood and the ringing treble of Maple. Coupled with a Sitka Spruce top and decorated with fingerboard inlays inspired by Northwest Tribal Totem images, the Myrtlewood Northwest Classic is a versatile instrument and our most popular Master Class Model.
