(More customer reviews)Yeah, it looks kind of cool with the pseudo ying/yang design and the binary colors. The Luna story sounds good (woman starts off making quality but lighter guitars for other women, winds up making quality lighter guitars that appeal to both sexes). And the price, relative to the list price of $400, sounds like a steal.
Yup, it all sounds and looks good.
That is, until you get this guitar, the Luna Neo. It turns out to be a really cheaply constructed made in China toss off. The construction is only fair. The neck feels dried out. The frets are kind of rough on the edges. The stock strings are old and lousy. The pickups are mediocre. And it doesn't look all that cool in person.
Oh, and this particular guitar is hardly particularly light...
Which is to say, there's absolutely nothing to differentiate this guitar from the ninety-nine dollar special at your local big box.
At the going supposed blow-out price, I guess you get about your money's worth. But no more. Personally, I don't like it and wish I hadn't bought it. One more for the big guitar scrap-heap in the sky, I guess...
Oh, and at the retail price, or at the price this guitar was selling for before they lowered it to the blow out price? Well, at that price, the quality of this guitar (or lack thereof) is an embarrassment.
Only good thing I can say is that it does come with a (kind of cheap) gig bag and a patch cord.
