Gold Tone Paul Beard Signature Series PBR-CA Roundneck Resonator Guitar (Vintage Mahogany) Review

Gold Tone Paul Beard Signature Series PBR-CA Roundneck Resonator Guitar (Vintage Mahogany)
Average Reviews:

This guitar has great sound, flawless construction and finish, and plays great.
The cutaway is great for reaching those blue notes on slide around the 16th fret.
Loud, but rich and lush sound. It can also be surprisingly gritty for blues when played appropriately. If I could only have one resonator, this would be the one.

Dobro Hound Dog Acoustic Deluxe Round Neck Dobro Guitar, Vintage Brown Review

Dobro Hound Dog Acoustic Deluxe Round Neck Dobro Guitar, Vintage Brown
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought this guitar recently, and I have to say that I really don't have much experience with other resonator guitars beyond listening to them. Since I play slide in open tunings, I feel like they have a superior sound for that style. This one felt like a pretty safe bet being a Dobro brand. It is made in China, which is a bummer, but seems well constructed. The body is thick, and solid feeling. The matte finish and wood grain look great. It has a very antique look about it. The action from the shop was set pretty nice, frets easily, yet the slide doesn't bang around on the frets. The first thing I did was drop some heavier strings on it, which really made a difference in the sound quality over the factory strings- that usually goes without saying I suppose. I like having the pickup on it as well, sounded really good on just a cheap fender frontman amplifier. I'm definitely not an expert, I've never even touched a National, so I don't have much to make comparisons to, but I'm pretty well pleased with the sound and construction upon my purchase.

Regal Duolian Resonator Polychrome Guitar RC-1 Review

Regal Duolian Resonator Polychrome Guitar RC-1
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am a musician in E Texas with a 3piece string band. I have been playing resonators for about 15 years, mainly open tuned slide blues. I really can't afford a high end National or Beard, so I've made due with what I could afford. Out of respect for others I won't mention the names of the resos I've tried, but I will say that this one is, in my opinion, an exceptional value! Loud, sweet, clear and dirty when when you need it! I added an Allen tail piece and new strings, and I can tell you honestly.....this guitar is a HOSS! The sound is awsome and it looks stunning! I highly recommend this guitar! Don't see how anyone could go wrong at this price! Try one, you won't be disapointed!
Sincerely,
Nolan

The Duolian Resonator Guitar was a favorite with blues legends such as Son House, Bukka White and Tampa Red when it first appeared in 1931.In the days before electric amplification, blues musicians were looking for an instrument that could produce the volume they needed while still maintaining the tone they required. The Duolian was the answer. The RC-1 comes in steel with a gun-metal gray polychrome finish.

Recording King Style-O Resonator Series, Metal Body Guitar, Champagne Matte Review

Recording King Style-O Resonator Series, Metal Body Guitar, Champagne Matte

I gave 3 stars because this is a nice guitar, but after ordering, and having a replacement sent, I still have not received the correct item. Both guitars I received from Amazon did not have the "Chicken Foot" pattern on the cover plate like the picture shows. Instead the cover plate they came with was just round holes in kind of a pentagon shape. Needless to say, they were returned, and I will be buying the item elsewhere. This was the first time I ever had a problem with Amazon, and was disappointed they never sent me the item I ordered.

Dean Resonator Cutaway/Electric Natural Mahogany Guitar Review

Dean Resonator Cutaway/Electric Natural Mahogany Guitar
Average Reviews:

This is not a guitar, it's a case, so the title and description is incorrect. Nor is it a hard case, it's a tan "semi-hard case covered with a gig bag type material", so the image is incorrect as well.
So why is it listed on Amazon? Because Woodwind and Brasswind 'has no control over what's listed' or something like that.
In Amazon we trust. That's why we order through Amazon and not directly from the seller (at first, at least). This is one of those times where you should pay close attention to the feedback and not order from either one.
Don't order ANYTHING from "Woodwind and Brasswind". Buy from someone else.

The Dean CE Acoustic-Electric Resonator Guitar features a modern body design and electronics. The resonator guitar has a mahogany top, back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a 21 fret rosewood fingerboard. The cutaway body lets you reach the upper frets. Grover tuners make a cinch to get in tune and stay there. A Dean "lipstick" pickup has controls for volume and tone so you can plug-in and be heard in any setting. Johnson Swamp Stomper Resonator Guitar with Pickup Review

Johnson Swamp Stomper Resonator Guitar with Pickup
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been shopping for a resonator for a long time, but I really wanted one that would plug in without alteration. For only 300 hundred bucks, this is a good quality and great sounding resonator. I plugged this in and it sounds great. It is not as brassy and twangy as the metal body models, but I like that. A great instrument which has already given me hours of pleasure and renewed my energy and interest in writing and performing traditional music. I haven't actually held and played the Jay Turser, the Oscar Schmidt, or Fender models. One thing is, those other models are hard to find in guitar stores, a limited market for resonators. I don't like the way the Jay Turser and Fender models look. The lines on the Turser are too hinky and the Fender looks too much like a cheap cigar box. This guitar is very understated and elegant, but will scream if you put a slide on it. I play with a 30 watt Line 6 spider 3 amp and there are some great warm or sleazy crunches you can get! Fun fun fun. I played one of these at an awesome guitar store in Ellensburg, Washington and I fell in love. Just didn't want to make the hour and a half drive back to Ellensburg to buy it. The quality and finish of this instrument are excellent.

Great guitar! I compared this to the Paul Beard Signature model at my local shop and couldn't notice much of a difference. This is a great Reso for any level player. Good build quality and setup right out of the box.
