(More customer reviews)Takamine has a great reputation and this instrument lives up to the Takamine name. It comes right out of the case with an amazing action and sound. I went to put a battery in the built in tuner preamp and was surprised there was one installed. I closed the battery compartment, turned on the power and tuned it up. First off the tuner works great. The second thing is the guitar was very well in tune with it self all up and down the neck and checking it with harmonics. This guitar has great dynamics. You can play it hard or soft and it keeps its magic bell like tone. The finish is very clean and the sunburst finish on the top is beautiful. It has rosewood sides and an awesome back. The back is three piece, made of rosewood and flamed maple. When you see the fit & finish you cannot believe this guitar sells for under $500.00 and pictures don't do it justice. The preamp and equalizer works as it should and sounds great through both my DAW set up as well as my VOX AC 15. The hard case looks great and I can't believe its included in the price. It is very solid, has a storage compartment and protects the guitar very well. It also comes with an amp cable, picks, spare strings and a strap. (Its nice that GO-DPS threw in a set of D'addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze Strings. They are decent strings.) As a guitar junkie I love to try new picks and the pick assortment is fun. Even though the guitar sounds great with a pick I will be using this guitar mostly as a finger picking guitar. As far as value most dealers offer this guitar for $499.00 with a padded gig bag. This guitar is a steal from GO-GPS. GO-DPS gives you a hard case that sells anywhere from $89.00 to $110.00 and $35.00 of other goodies useful for a beginner for the low price of $419.99.If you are looking for a small parlour model, a Blues Robert Johnson vibe guitar or a complete beginners kit that sounds great and won't frustrate an eager young player this is your guitar.
