(More customer reviews)Its got a great metal tone and well built. The very first day I pulled off a string and while restringing I was not able to unscrew the saddle srews which were jammed into the saddle blocks. I tried losening the studs and the spring came aff along with the entire bridge....but I fixed it up!...thanks to all the proper allen keys that came with it! Still I was not able to unscrew the saddle screws. I had to bend the metal plates below the saddle screw and then apply sheer force(with the risk of breaking the sadle blocks!)..and was finally able to open it and restring. An adventurous experience to start with.
If you face similar problem dont try this...instead ....provided you have patience unlike me ....immerse the the entire bridge in oil for a couple of days.
Finally, coming to the guitar...neck is pretty narrow..actually the kind I like...not good for those who look for wide neck with space. The floyd rose and locking system is ok. Its comparatively light and 'sleek'. The body looks solid. Its got a classy metal tone. The pickups are good but not the best..not sure if its Timecapsule or just stock dean pickups...pinch harmonics can take quite a bit of concentration and sustain is not as good as les pauls etc. Having said that...surprisingly, it can also be used for country songs...not sure about blues though. Overall it works for me and at this price its definitely a deal.Should be good for gigs and home recording.

The Vendetta 4.0 is the top of Dean's Vendetta crop, with a quilted maple top and back, neck-thru construction for amazing sustain, a pair of Dean "Time Capsule" humbuckers, Grover tuning machines, and--on this model--a Floyd Rose Original tremolo bridge.
The Dean Vendetta SeriesWith four models to choose from, the Vendettas have string-through-body design, classic Dean V Ferrule pattern, dual Humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. The Vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. The 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. The Vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the Pearl Evil Eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. The 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "Tiger Eye" finish.
Mahogany BodyAs with most of their instruments, Dean uses a mahogany body for the Vendettas. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.
The quilted maple top and back means a guitar that looks amazing, and it also focuses and brightens that mahogany tone a bit.
Neck-Through-Body ConstructionThe Vendetta 4.0 features neck-through construction, which is typically found on high-end instruments. This means maximized sustain, resonance throughout the whole instrument, further tuning stabilization, and (as with set necks) easier access to the upper frets.
The 25.5-inch scale maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with pearl "Evil Eye" inlays.
Dean Humbucker PickupsTo capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its "Time Capsule" humbuckers. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided.
Grover TunersIf you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard. These guitar machines are a triumph in engineering and style, with a gear ratio of 14:1, perfect gear meshing, and zero backlash and slippage. The gear box has a special lubricant for lifetime, trouble-free service.
Original Floyd Rose Tremolo SystemThe patented and often imitated double-locking design of the Floyd Rose Tremolo System allows you to lock your guitar in tune at the nut and at the bridge. Engineered like no other tremolo system, the Floyd's high-quality steel parts are manufactured to exacting specifications. Beat it up as much as you want--from traditional vibrato to dive bombing leads or flapping loose strings, and stay in tune while you do it.
