EMG VG20 Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)They say this set up is clean but it is better described as accurate. Whatever your fingers are doing to those strings and frets is coming through loud and clear. If you play clean, a little dirty or really dirty and you want solid lows, warm mids and clear highs that cut through without being harsh, buy this thing. This is not for scooped mids, maximum saturation metal music but good for everything else. The mid boost is especially nice. The down side is that the pick guard is kind of micro-phonic, but if your stage volume is under 103 Db you should be alright. It has everything you need for an easy install, after you take an hour (maybe) to hook it up and screw it on your only problem will be what to do with those old, crappy passive pick ups.

There's no question Vince Gill's music – whether you call it country or country rock – has made him one of the most sought-after artists in music. His award winning performances are enhanced by his use of his Pro-Series system, the EMG-VG20. This system can be found on his main black Strat and includes The EMG-S Single coil set with a master volume, master tone, and paired up with a SPC presence control that replaces the standard rear tone, all prewired directly onto a custom 11-hole tortoise shell pickguard with black knobs. Vince is quoted as once saying that "Music is the only place in the world where true democracy lives - every note counts"; with the EMG-VG20 every note is clean and defined and will always be heard. Whether you are playing rock or country or honky tonk, this is the set for you.
